I turned it on and temporarily became God.
The Ledlenser P7R Signature is not a flashlight — it’s a handheld sun that politely pretends to be a torch. I aimed it at my garden shed and saw into the soul of a raccoon. I’m pretty sure aircraft tried to land in my backyard.Let’s talk features:It’s rechargeable. Because batteries fear it.It has a bunch of brightness settings, but let’s be honest — we all just crank it to “Supernova” and feel powerful. The magnetic charging is so slick, I half expect it to make a “whoosh” sound like Iron Man suiting up.Build quality? Rock solid. Like, if you dropped it, the floor would apologize. It’s sleek, tactical, and somehow intimidating — like James Bond and a lighthouse had a baby.Pricey? Sure. But once you shine this thing down a street and light up three neighborhoods, you’ll realize you didn’t just buy a flashlight — you became the lighthouse keeper of your entire block.Would I buy it again? Only if I somehow lose it, or need to signal aliens.

Another stunningy good torch from Ledlenser.
I already have a Ledlenser PR7 core, but a man can never have enough torches so I treated myself to the PR7 signature for my birthday. It's certainly brighter than the PR7 core, although frankly not so much so brighter that anyone but a torch freak would notice. The new rotating switch just below the bevel makes it easier to select the various functions on the PR7 signature, albeit at the expense of classic lines of the PR7 core. The PR7 signature would be a worthy if pricey addition to your collection, I would keep an eye open for discount offers. An important and necessary safety improvement is the new charging cradle. If used "naked" the exposed magnetic contacts of the original charging cable can easily latch themselves unnoticed onto any small steel object, even a paper clip. When this happened to me, within a minute the USB port became too hot to touch. If I hadn't been there to unplug it I'm certain it would have caused a fire. I reported this to Ledlenser at the time and would like to think that this contributed to the new charging cradle.

Lenser has totally lost its way
I was a great fan of Lenser having owned many of their torches over the years. What did I find with the P7R signature? I found a button which is not only annoyingly more difficult to find than the old end cap one, but also a button that has been over complicated to the extreme to the point it felt like pot luck what light mode I got - and then to change mode I have to completely switch it off then play button "roulette" again. The weight and feel of the torch felt far inferior to my old P7 & T7 torches. To top it off after three evening dog walks the main LED bulb became defective and wouldn't light which left me only with the little red light. A complete joke of a torch at this price. I am seriously thinking of leaving lenser after this experience and moving to Fenix. Sorely disappointed!

I expected bright but this still impressed
Extremely bright, feels solid. Meets expectations which were high due to the price tag. This isn't light weight - not a problem at all but as Lightweight is one of the review categories I'm mentioning that this feels solid but certainly not light for its size.

Excellent quality
Had several of the cheaper torches sold on Amazon and the battery life and build quality has always been questionable. This however ticks all the boxes, it’s really bright, built very well and the battery actually lasts for hours rather than minutes.

Not so robust.
I bought this torch 3 years ago and has been very useful but unfortunately this week it dropped from a height of less than 12 inches and now doesn’t work properly. The only thing that works is the red night light. So not as robust I thought. Such a shame as it really was a great torch.

What a torch
I have owned several lenser torches and thought I’d treat myself to one of their upper class versions.I’m not even remotely disappointed, the light pattern and brightness levels are insane.Really very impressed.
