Perfect Practice Compact & Portable 8' Putting Mat - Indoor Putting Green

IMPRESSED - about 4 years ago i purchased an putting matt that was a TRUE 10 ft of putting length into the "PUTT OUT". worked great. BUT THIS IS AMAZING...15 FEET, easy assembly JUST FANTASTIC. Not even expensive...under $100.

Bought for my son. He says he likes it and uses it often. Easy assembly, arrived quickly and is a good value for the money. He says he would recommend to friends and he has no complaints.

Absolutley perfect. The ball rolls pure, better than all other indoor putting mats I have tried. The mat is plenty thick and does not slip on the hardwood floor. The 8 foot mat with the dark wood looks more like a decoration in the house than anything else. The ball return works flawlessly. My favorite part is I can easily remove a piece of the wood if I want to practice 6 foot putts vs 8 ft putts. To practice 4 foot putts, I remove two pieces, and there is no walking involved whatsoever. Even missed putts roll right back to you without coming off the mat. The steepness of the final 1 foot of the mat is not too extreme. The compact mat has a smaller hole than regulation size, which I believe will make putts on real greens seem easier. The lines on the mat serve as a great alignment aid. Best putting mat I could ask for. Seriously worth the money if you're serious about making more putts. Not to mention, the price of these mats used to be in the $300 range, so this is really an amazing deal.

After 4 weeks of use, 1. Developed with price in mind. It is not a $3,000 simulated turf putting green and don’t expect it to be. 2. All practice drills and tools each have a specific purpose this is no different it is one piece of the puzzle. Perfect Practice will definitely allow you to refine your putting stoke and fundamentals to help you become an overall better putter but it is one piece. 3. It is manufactured and packaged with price a key consideration. Good to high quality; but making it optimal for shipping pricing has caused them to fold or roll the surface more than I believe they wanted to and I can imagine the product team discussion on this point. 4. Getting the surface to lay flat. Depending on what you desire it will be a challenge. I laid things out as you see in my photo. It had more bumps than I would prefer. I gave it a couple of days. Not much change. I then took a 8’ 1x12 and placed it on 1/2 with two cinder blocks on top for three days. Only minimal improvement - sill more bumps and higher than I preferred. I used a steam iron “carefully” without much improvement. I then took a staple gun (this is where it will always be and no one will be moving it) and I stapled it at the bump points on the edges. I’m a golfer and I don’t care about the hardwood floor…and it’s a game room. This improved things considerably but I still had humps or slight bumps that influenced the ball roll enough that I finally we to the nuclear option. 4” wide double sided rug tape. I pulled out the staples and then very carefully found the bumps and applied the tape to those sections, starting at the cup end and working my way back down the runway until complete. Even then there remained some rises along the piping on the edge that I still stapled down. At this point I was all in anyway. Now I have a Perfect Practice setup like the factory did it. And I can use the full 15 feet with out the surface having any influence on the ball. Actually I probably fixed it too good. It’s a hardwood flood and I did not consider the very subtle crown the boards have. On the long putts which have higher speed if I do not get the putt rolling smoothly it can bounce on occasion. But that is good visual feedback and I know immediately what I did. Finally, my rating is high. Just because I’m a golf nut it was not fair to be hard on these folks with my goal of perfection. This is why I titled this “do not let Perfect be the enemy of Good” You do not have to do all that I have to have a very good inexpensive putting practice tool that will make you much improved at putting. And if you like to be perfect you now know what it will take….most likely. Oh, and make sure it is a space your wife will let you get away with doing what I have done. I’m a lucky man

First, let’s be honest people.. any putting mat is not a substitute for a real green; a mat should be used to develop a repeatable stroke that gets a ball rolling end over end. Bc the reality is that real greens are much longer and wider, they have undulations, they have pitch marks and they have way too many things out of our control that a putting mat just can’t train us for. We just need something convenient to use inside while we’re working from home. Anyway, I chose this Perfect Practice V5 Compact mat for a few reasons: -setup/storage is quick and easy. I’d guess it’s about 3 mins to put away and 1 min to assemble -Having 8 feet of space is plenty for me, especially for my smaller apartment -1 hole is good enough, just like my wife says. I prefer to focus on 1 hole..an extra hole would be distracting and either way, I’m just working on my stroke and seeing those balls roll straight. Maybe in the future, I’d wish I could stroke it into the other hole but I’m happy with the 1 I have -I love the ball return. Now, I don’t have to waste any effort walking back and forth, I can stay where I am and just hit ball after ball after ball -The quality is great too. No kinks in the mat, this thing is essentially a thick (but not tall) mousepad that rolls out very flat. Its smooth, the grass is just a print All in all, I’m super happy with this purchase. I’m looking forward to frequent, long sessions just stroking it into that tiny hole and watching these balls perform the way god intended them to. 5 stars!!

It’s perfect Improvement on his putting skills

The magnetic polarity of the last piece was incorrect resulting in last piece not able to connect to the rail. Also the paint on the wooden pcs was chipped.

The best putting mat I have owned. Great surface and feels like you are putting on a real green. Excellent having all the lines to see you roll of the ball. Great having 2 size holes to practice with. Great value for the money. Will never need to buy another putting mat
