It works!
I ordered this for use with an old Hitachi 18-volt drill I picked up at an auction. The price was right (too high, and I just would have thrown the drill away). The charger works well. It is nothing fancy but it is designed to accept the shape of the battery and does the trick. There is a charging indicator light - on the wall/plug-in portion of the unit - and it is useful. The construction is NOT heavy-duty. The plastic seems rather thin - this is the kind of thing that is destined to fail if it is moved around a lot or used on a job site. But, if this is stationary on a work bench for routine charging, I suspect it will be fine. Glad to find it!

Good morning inexpensive charger
I was ready to replace Hatachi tools with new Li ion tools. $$$ for new cordless tools gave me pause. Turns out OEM Hitachi charger was bad. This charger giving more life to the cordless tool set at a good price point.

Excellent charger for the price
This charger works great. Charged my 14.4V battery just fine. Make sure you insert the battery correctly. I thought it wasn't working at first. The charger kept blinking red. I finally realized the battery was inserted backwards. I turned the battery around and it inserted much easier. It worked great.
