These are AMAZING books for kids to learn math. AMAZING! They will retain the pictures & concepts learned in them forever. (Truly.) Proof is our son is now 16 & can still quote them...from when he was 6 & we started these books & workbooks. He smiles when he sees us using them now with our daughter, as he has not forgotten them. He was able to nail down math concepts quickly, as they provide an amazing base for future complicated math. Memorizing & being able to retain basic concepts (the foundations of math) is key. This program will do that! It gave him a strong math base. They are FABULOUS books in every way! Perfect for any & all learning styles. (Even my friend used them with her dyslexic kids.) I am re-buying, as I am replacing almost all of our "The Fun Way" books now for our daughter. I loaned my originals out & they didn't come back to me. The only one I could find was the "Times Tables the Fun Way book"...so I am replacing the rest. They also added this "Word Problems the Fun Way" - which I ordered & should prove to be was fantastic as the others. Their main website now has down-loadable workbooks & books. The flash cards are also worth purchasing & adding to your math program. They reinforce everything learned! I cannot say enough good about this entire program of books, workbooks & cards for teachers, homeschoolers & parents to use with their kids!

My 9 year old daughter is a right brain learner and had trouble with story problems, I purchased this to help with that issue. She hated it and won't even look at it. She is just not interested yet. What I have learned is that I have to keep an eye on when her brain has matured enough to #1 understand these concepts and #2 she needs to care about it. When both of those happen I think we'll be better able to use the book. As a parent I thought the book was engaging and had useful exercises in it, my child did not and she's the one that will be using it.
