## Description

The Samsung UHD FT850 Series offers approximately 50% more pixels than a standard 1080p business monitor, so fonts and numbers can be more easily read and details can be more easily discerned at smaller sizes. Review: Great 75Hz 2560x1440 monitor! - I upgraded from a 1920x1200 24" Samsung TN monitor (9 years old) to this 2560x1440 27" PLS monitor. I finally can run 2 browsers side-by-side and which makes work much more efficient. Professionally, I have a 2 screen setup, but for my home computer I just wanted one screen and this does the job. I sit about 30" from the screen and I feel like this is the biggest size flat screen that works; anything larger and I would probably look for a curved screen. I've used it for normal browsing activities, working on spreadsheets and gaming, and it does not disappoint. Clear, bright and crisp with a very high pixel density. I have it connected over HDMI, but had to start out with DisplayPort. The monitor has a control "stick" at the back side of the lower right corner, which lets you select the input signal. After changing it to auto and connecting HDMI it now runs on it fine. Another topic; I read a review about this monitor not being able to run on 75Hz. Well, that is what I experienced too in the beginning, only 60Hz. But in fact, it will run at 75Hz, see attached picture. Go to your graphics card control panel and select 2560x1440, and look for the refresh rate pull down. For me, it only showed 60Hz max. After some investigation it appeared that the higher refresh rate can be hidden by Windows. Open Windows Settings > System > Display & click "Advanced display settings". There should be a link "Display properties" which then pops up and click tab "Monitor". Uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". Look in the "Screen refresh rate" pull down and now select 75Hz. After it is set at this rate, go back to your graphics card control panel and find 2560x1440 (native), and select 75Hz from the pull down. If it is not there, customize your resolution and enter 75Hz. If it fails, your screen will automatically revert back to your old settings. Looking at the screen with complete black background, there is some IPS Glow, but not much at all and typical of what to expect from IPS / PLS monitors. Watching some movies and playing games it is not noticeable at all. It has virtually no bezel so a dual or triple setup would work great. I'm very happy with this screen, no dead pixels, lines or color shading, and color setting is good right out of the box. I reduced brightness levels from the default level 35 to 30, as it was a little too bright for my room. If you're in the market for a new all-round flat screen in the 24" to 28" range, don't go with anything less than 2560x1440. This screen just does a wonderful job. The next step up I think would be a 34" curved wide screen with a resolution of 3440x1440, rather than a larger screen than this 27" Samsung screen with the same resolution.

The stand height, swivel, tilt adjustment is great. love that the screen extends nearly to edge of overall dimension, no wasted space with case frame. lot of connection options, I'm using HDMI. The stand base is a little large but it hasn't been a hinderance. I'm not sure about the on/off joystick control. It's located on back side lower right corner. It's easy enough to locate and manipulate but I am a little concerned about how durable that kind of control will be and stand up to use. It does has some settings to automatically shut off after whatever time frame of no use you want to specify, which cuts down on how much you need to use the controls which is nice, and some power settings I really haven't grasped the function of yet. The documentation is terrible ,almost non existent. What is available is very vague and not very helpful. I've not been able to find any document that explains the options available to you in the monitors menu of options. It's pretty much up to you to experiment and figure them out on your own. The Samsung website only has downloads of the same paper documents that came with it which are pretty useless. They didn't include a driver disc with the monitor. Windows 10 installed a generic display driver and couldn't find a better one. I was able to locate the proper driver on the Samsung website but it wasn't easy to find. After I installed, adjusted and used the monitor for about a week. I fired it up and noticed the screen was really bright. Went to display settings to adjust brightness only to find the brightness setting was grayed out and unavailable. After trying numerous things I started a support chat. I Had to go into monitor menu and accomplish a reset all function. It started working normally again. Overall pretty pleased and impressed with its visual properties and happy with purchase.

I upgraded from a 1920x1200 24" Samsung TN monitor (9 years old) to this 2560x1440 27" PLS monitor. I finally can run 2 browsers side-by-side and which makes work much more efficient. Professionally, I have a 2 screen setup, but for my home computer I just wanted one screen and this does the job. El monitor es muy bueno en calidad de imagen, pero los puertos USB no son 3.0 sino 2.0, muy probablemente lo estaré devolviendo ya que no me funciona para conectar un adaptador gigabit ethernet, muy mal porque no es como dice la descripción del producto.
