Can this be used in a water fountain or will it be filtered out?

If you mean one of those pet fountains, I would imagine you could. You can add the drops in the flow to circulate it through. There's no particles in the additive, so I would think nothing would get filtered out.

Does it have a taste or smell?

I did not detect any smell. My cat didn’t notice it in her water.

I have a water bowl with a tank that holds about a gallon of water. Would it be advisable to add this to the tank so I don't have to administer daily?

We have one of those type of water tank dishes as well and add it directly into the bowl to keep it from being too dilute in the gallon tank.
