Excellent Emergency Weather Radio with Power Bank
This FosPower NOAA emergency weather radio is a very useful and reliable device for emergencies and outdoor use. The reception for NOAA alerts, AM, and FM stations is clear and easy to tune, which is important during storms or power outages. The multiple charging options (solar, hand crank, USB, and battery) make it extremely versatile. The built-in power bank is also very helpful for charging small devices like phones when you need it most. The flashlight is bright, and the SOS alarm is a great safety feature for emergencies. The build feels solid and durable, suitable for both home preparedness and outdoor activities like camping. Overall, this is a highly practical emergency tool that combines radio, flashlight, and backup power in one device. I would definitely recommend it for anyone preparing for hurricanes, storms, or outdoor survival situations.

FosPower4000 vs Raynic5000 - true comparison
This review will go over the pros and cons of the FosPower 4000 versus the Raynic 5000. Both are great units with a few key pros/cons for each that will determine which one you pick as your device. They cost virtually the same: First the Pros of the FosPower4000 - Build quality is top notch - it just feels solid without being heavy at all - The dynamo for the hand charger secured nicely and is easily retreivable - The bright to dimmer flashlight options are excellent and more versatile - The carabiner that is included is top notch - Limited LIFETIME Warranty (wow!) - Rechargeable battery easily accessible for replacement if necessary The Cons of the FosPower4000 - implying 4000 mAh battery - Only 2 ways to charge it; USB and solar; USB cable included but no plug - The manual tuning dial buttons are not the best way to go when you need quick access to a Weather band - No headphone jack - 8 times out of 10 when I grabbed it, I accidentally hit the SOS button; no button-lock feature - Handcrank does not feel smooth when turned Now for the Pros of the Raynic5000 - implying 5000mAh battery - Build quality if good but not as solid feeling as the FosPower - 4 (FOUR) ways to keep this one charged; USB, Solar, Handcrank and AAA batteries - Button-lock feature for no accidental pressing of SOS buttons - Regardless of the above line, the SOS button is out of the way, so even if not locked there is no chance of accidentally hitting it - Digital tuner - this is awesome for QUICKLY selecting the appropriate weather band - Backlit (can be turned off) Digital display for battery charge level, time, status of alerts - Smooth handcrank motion Cons of the Raynic5000 - 1 year Warranty in comparison to Full Lifetime Warranty of FosPower4000 - Handcrank comes loose from cradle very easily and is a little irritating - Pathetic carabiner included So, which one did I pick? It was a difficult decision because they are both excellent units, however, I ended up picking the Raynic5000! Why? Well, because, while it was difficult to forego the top-notch build quality and lifetime warranty of the FosPower, the Raynic had all the features that make it worthy of purchase while not suffering too much from its build quality; which really isn't bad at all. It's just not as good as its competitor.

A handy tool to have!
I actually like this! It has a radio, a bright light several charging ports a solar port and other neat things going on. Iโm always thinking about what would I need to have in case of emergency emergencies and this would not be too heavy to carry in my backpack or a small bag. I would recommend. I like the color. I donโt regret buying this.

Sturdy little weather radio.
I like the fact you can crank it ,that it recharges sitting in the window all day day after day itโs been reliable so far I turn it on all the time. has a nice little flashlight on one end . You could hang it in your tent or over the sink while washing dishes something like that in an outage . Just donโt open the solar so far up and the light wonโt come on so you can aim the solar to be ideal for where the sun is but in the window itโs been recharging itself just fine. It will continuously tell you temperatures abd other weather information however recently we had an outbreak as you know through the south and Noaa was not actually working so in that case it was not as useful as it couldโve been. Itโs important to have a back up system that will inform you like weather on your phone or something like that. Some people find the droning on and temperatures and weather around the area irritating I think if itโs an outbreak Iโm gonna listen to it be irritated to be safe lol. Additionally it takes a long time to bring those lithium batteries down you can play it for hours and still on four blue lights, which means itโs 75 to 100% charged. send in the car and get the lifetime warranty and enjoy it I think itโs really useful to have it, a long with my rock pal solar.

FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
UPDATE: I am changing my rating from 1 star to 5 star. I contacted the company (see OLD review) to find out if it was something I did wrong in charging the lithium battery. I now know that I should have taken it out when I first got it 4 years ago, charged it, and then recharged it every 3 months. I wasn't expecting the company to do anything since it was 4 years old, though never used. Well, the company wrote back right away asking for additional info (like model # and order # etc.). Lo and behold they are sending me a new radio!!!! I truly was not expecting this because I thought it was my ignorance that caused the radio to fail. TBH I thought since I bought this 4 years ago and it sat unopened in the box that was why it failed. I did not know that lithium batteries will die when not recharged periodically and are allowed to sit for long periods of time. I had thought it used AAA batteries. I believe the company went above and beyond what most people would expect and am very grateful. Lesson learned: Always open and check packages as soon as you receive them. OLD REVIEW I needed it last night because we were having serious flash floods. All my other devices failed, internet, phone, tv, even other weather radios that had worked for a long time and I was unable to receive warnings if we were to evacuate. So I thought of this. Unfortunately I had not charged it for the first time. Today it took several hours to charge. I checked it every hour. When I went back the last time. Nothing worked. If charging it for an extra 30 min destroyed the radio, it's not worth the money. Buy another brand. I needed it last night because we were having serious flash floods. All my other devices failed, internet, phone, tv, even other weather radios that had worked for a long time. So I thought of this. Unfortunately I had not charged it for the first time. Lesson learned and will buy another brand.

Radio is clear and the additions to this radio make it a great purchase.
This is a great little radio for our โoff the gridโ land up North. Clear. The sensor light is extremely bright. The flashlight is great and the SOS button is very loud if and when needed. This was a great purchase for the price.

Handy Item to Have
Purchased this flash light/radio following an extend blackout when I discovered my older devices no longer worked. I put it through all paces and it works as promised. Where I live picking up the weather channel is tricky and I need to be outside, not a good thing if there are lightening storms. The rest works well. Only word of of caution, while the crank will help the unit build up a charge to power the radio or light, it takes a lot of cracking, so don't expect to be able to charge your phone with it. Just make sure it is always fully charged using the cable. I find it holds its charge for several months.

awesome !!!!!
radio work very find, I charged it with the usb charging cable (included with the item) all lights work perfectly, fm radio play great but you need to slowly turn the tuning botton to find our radio station. when you have some kind of receiveing radio waves, a green light turns on ta say you are receiving a signal. It helps aa lot. I love the blue lights saying your are at 25, 50,75 or 100% of batery power, and when you are under the sun, a red light with a battery symbol turn on to say it's charging by the solar panel. This radio has a limited life time warranty. This item is a must for camping, fishing or any kind of Emergency, very fast shipping, Thank you FosPower to make some of those essential radio

Sturdy & durable
For the moment 5 ๐ star on the battery, but this could change as i just received my item and haven't had the chance to use it at it's full potential yet. The radio is clear and easy to setup. Speaker is fairly loud and good quality. The variety of light's is awesome, very Bright! It charges fairly quick when plugged in. I think this has many advantages for the price.
