Place the bent part as far back on your tongue as you can (with your tongue sticking out) and just drag it down to the front, do this until you see nothing coming off of it rinsing it under the tap clean each pass over tongue

Do you use the scraper before or after brushing your teeth?

I use it after brushing. Then rinse with mouth wash.

Is the U shape one better or the other one better?

I have only used the U shape tongue scraper. It’s a simple but effective device.
