Review: Great prop for my maleficent costume - I bought this to be part of my maleficent costume for this Halloween and I am happy with it. It is not a solid walking stick in that you could not rely on it to support your weight however for the look this is perfect. I also love the fact it lights up. The staff looks realistic as well. It isn't really cartoonish. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Review: Get new batteries - Ok, so I have read the reviews and was fairly worried. But this was only $36 when I ordered it, which is inexpensive compared to the ones listed for $60 plus. Yes it is light, yes it isn't super solid but, it's for a costume. So here is the deal... the little tab for the "try me" power wasn't there. It was dim. It only cost around $5 to get new batteries (it takes 3 AG13 (LR44) on desertcart and is available for prime. Also, there are 2 silver circles about half way down the staff, if you touch them at the same time, it comes on. You can also activate it by tapping it in the ground. When it lights up it goes through a cycle and changes colors slowly. It is really neat. Totally love it!

**Q: ordered the glowing staff but can't locate the on/off switch!?!**
A: It's at the top of the staff. There's a push on/off button & an on/off switch. Is it possible you got on that doesn't light up at all?

A: Yes, the batteries are included.

**Q: Is this one better than the non-light-up one? As in does the top look better? On the other there was some stickers that looked bad.**
A: The light up one looks amazing, it really has a Disney look to it. It does have button batteries, so they can be expensive to replace. Yep, buy this one, not the sticker one. Cheers.

**Q: Can this be put into a book back or easily carried onto a ride when it is in 2 pieces?**
A: It is quite long. It would be poking out the top of a basic book bag/backpack.
It is a very good staff though!!!

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter for her Maleficent costume. It was a perfect addition! Its plastic and a little flimsy. If kids are rough with it I could see it breaking. The accent light was awesome and was too cool on Halloween night when we went trick or treating. However, the light only lasted on Halloweeen night. The battery died before we were even done collecting candy. My daughter had turned it on once or twice to see the light work when we first got this then we made a point to put it away until halloween to ensure that the light would work on Halloween. We were disappointed that it didn't make it through Halloween night. We are hoping we can find a replacement battery somewhere as it is not a standard AA or AAA. Overall, it will make a fun prop for playing dress up.
