I like this tool. It's probably not for the average user due to it's cost, but it would be great for auto repair centers who handle large numbers of cars and disconnect the battery while work on them. Works as advertised.

Did what it's suppose do

I am almost certain this was a returned item. The box had bulged in areas indicating that it was repackaged. The top inner flaps interconnect and were loose. Finally, the battery was fully charged, which never seems to happen with a new item. Having written this, I was not sure what to expect. I connected it to the diagnostics port and changed the battery. Started the car after the battery change and the fob worked. I am not getting any odd warnings messages and the presets were saved. So, it did what it was supposed to. The only reason it does not get five stars is that I believe it was returned.

I used this unit to replace the battery on two of my cars. It worked as advertised and I did not loose any programming and all the features were retained. It is simple and easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow.

I own a 2012 Cadillac CTS4 Premium. Battery was on it's way out so I bought one of these to store my car's memory settings while changing it out. Amazon delivered the next day. I charged it overnight and in the morning I see the green light which indicates the memory saver has a full charge. Went down to NAPA to pickup my battery I had ordered online the night before. I plug the memory saver into my car's ODBC port. Should see a green light but instead I get an amber light, which indicates the battery needs to be charged. Uhmmm, I just did that. Troubleshooting indicates to reset the 4AMP circuit breaker. I can't, it doesn't move. Appears to be defective. Begin the process to do a return on Amazon but because this is a battery device I had to jump through too many hoops. Getting very frustrated at this point. Amazon's automated troubleshooting system wants me to take the BRAND NEW UNIT APART and remove / reinstall the battery inside the unit. Uhmmm, no! Brand new device. I'm not about to start taking it apart. I eventually started a chat with an Amazon CSR and request to speak with a human. She sends me a link to contact a real person. Get someone on the phone but she has a very heavy accent. I have to ask her multiple times to slow down and enunciate her words. She says I will get a full refund but it will take 7 - 10 business days (I think this is what she says). We'll see. Now I guess I will order another memory saver and postpone changing my car's battery for a few days. Screw it. I'm going to lunch with a buddy ...

I was concerned about disconnecting my honda crv battery because the radio was programmed with several stations and was setup for Sirius xm. I did not want to got thru all that programming again. Also it is recommended to keep power maintained on the ecm and ppm when a battery is removed. I thought about using the cigarette lighter battery maintainer but the reviews on this item were not very good. This backup power source is like a ups. It maintains full current on the cars electrical and electronic systems. It worked as described and I am glad I spent the extra money for it.

Box was open - unit not working - can’t even return , was of $150.00 - Amazon can’t even give me a refund . Talk about getting ripped off . Wish I could give -5 five stars
