Do bk2 scales fit on the bk3?

Yes, the BK2 and BK3 have the same handles as well as the 4,5,7,9,10,22,32,&39

What is the thickness of the blade? Is this thickness maintained over the entire blade length?

The blade is one solid piece of metal that is about a qt inch thick with a handle attached to it. It is that thick the entire length and width except for where it tapers down to become the actual blade.

I just bought this but it doesn't fit in my pocket sharpener. How do you guys sharpen this tool?

I love mine, but had the same problem...I had an old SPYDERCO shapner, a base with two "V" shaped rods coming out of it and it works perfecly. Razor sharp when I'm done...this comes in a pouch and doesn't take up enough room in my pack to worry about. This sharpens anything, even fish hooks. I believe you can still buy these. If not, get a flat whet stone. That's the best help I can give you. R / Mack

is the grind and shoulder the same on both sides, like a knife grind both sides? or is the shoulder bevel only on one side as seen in the pic above

It's more on the side shown is grinded more like an axe than a blade I got mine and it wasn't very sharp this is made more for prying, chopping, and batoning than cutting.
