It is extremely interesting, well written and researched, and compelling. I wanted to write this review now because it resonated with me so much that I immediately went out and bought the spices and one ayurvedic herb (triphala, readily available at my local food coop) and started to do step one about 2 days after I read this book. I want to let everyone know that I have had results surprisingly fast. It's subtle but after a week I started noticing I was less tired at work, and that coffee didn't give me the afternoon let down anymore (perhaps because I'm drinking the tea during the day so much too). On day 10 I weighed in and had lost 5 pounds. Not only that, on day 10 three people who don't know each other commented that my eyes looked really bright and that they could see my face looked slimmer. Stage 1 is fairly easy to implement - go to bed by 10, meditate, drink this tea during the day, dry brush, and journal cravings (that's harder for me to remember to do) so I'm pretty surprised by these results. I feel so much better already! I haven't felt this kind of resonance with a so-called diet book since I read Eat to Live - and I felt a lot more excited about The Prime because the doctor tells you that you will naturally stay away from food that is bad for your body. In such a short time I have found that this is TRUE. Just try it. I'm going to buy copies for my friends without waiting for the soft cover book to come out, it's just that excellent! Review: Of all the books on this subject I've read, this is the most readable and possibly the most practical. - Very doable detox - but not your everyday detox. And certainly not a weight loss program - though that seems to happen and this is mentioned - since it seems that so many people have issues with excess weight. The voice of the author in this book comes across as both nurturing and well educated about this subject. As a practicing integrative neurologist, Dr. Chaudhary evidently has plenty of experience with what works and this book comes from that experience. With all the questionable toxins incorporated into our processed food supply, a program of ongoing cleansing and body awareness to make better choices easily more important than ever these days. What is most awesome is how this doctor's switch to the practices described in "The Prime" is that she got a dose of her own medicine when she developed migraines (from long working hours and bad dietary habits in med school). Dr. Chaudhary then began using the same medications she prescribed. These meds didn't work for her - side effects being almost worse than the problem. She experienced first why her patients complained about the side-effects. Everyone should have a doctor like this! The body of knowledge covered in t"The Prime" came out of her own experiences and what she did to get better and stay better. Her medical practice evolved into an integrative approach to Neurology - combining Ayurveda with sophisticated medical school training. So she knows from whence she speaks and writes. I'll be buying about ten copies of this book and giving them to my health-conscious friends.

Written in an encouraging and easy to read manner
This book provides a holistic approach to digestive and brain health along with an introduction to Ayurvedic principles for health and wellness backed up by evidence-based neurological research. Throughout the book, Dr Chaudhary weaves her own personal stories and the experiences of her patients (who have conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis) which compliment and contextualise the practical guidance she provides for her readers. Written in an encouraging and easy to read manner, full of wisdom and integrity, each chapter and highlighted checklist moves the reader gently through the four stages of The Prime. Utilising natural products and traditional knowledge to enable mind-body-spirit transformation this book has a truly nourishing and empathetic approach to unravelling habits, addictions and unproductive thinking patterns around food. Recommended for anyone wishing to improve their digestive health, energy levels, manage cravings or brain-fog, practice self-care, lose weight, understand the gut-brain connection or connect more deeply with their self and body.

Extremely interesting! Informative and scientific and very encouraging to those of us who want to eat healthy! Mrs Chaudhary is brilliant . There is a wonderful recipe for a tea which one drinks daily and has made a big difference to my digestion. I am thrilled!

I've been trying to get to the root cause of some health issues I've had in my life. This book has helped me understand what could be the cause at a dietary and digestive level. These points seem to align with some of my own observations - things not documented in Western medicine.

Boek bevat zeer nuttige tips om de fysiologie weer in balans te brengen. Er worden stappen beschreven hoe iemand zjin lichaam kan zuiveren van ama. Ama is een begrip dat nog geen equivalent heeft in de Westerse geneeskunde. Het staat voor onverteerde voedselresten en onverwerkte emoties die zich ophopen in je lichaam en die uiteindelijk kunnen leiden tot lichamelijke imbalansen en ziekte.
