I gave this to my boyfriend for his birthday and he loves it. He actually uses it mostly for push ups, crunches, etc as he only does occasional yoga. He loves the natural feel of the cork and the fact that it "doesn't stick to his back" like other mats. I love the fact that it isn't off gassing into his lungs and body with toxic chemicals! It also doesn't leave sticky flakes of rubber on him or have a strong smell like 100% rubber mats do. I thought it might since the back is rubber, but it really doesn't.The Kakolee mat is also priced much more reasonably than other cork mats, I think because the company is relatively new. However, the product is very high quality and just as think and large as the competition. If one reads reviews of other brands one will see that ALL cork mats will chip and crack with time but still remain functional. I'm guessing this is due in large part to the mats being made without adhesives (only heat is used in manufacturing), which would be a source of a lot of toxins and defeat the health incentives of a cork mat. The Kakolee team seems very responsive with a genuine desire to "make it right," so if the reviewers who left 1 star had contacted them I'm sure they would have wanted to replace and/or refund any faulty mats. Don't be deterred! We received a great product from a company that seems committed to top quality service.

Loving this mat. When I first unrolled it, it did have a strong odor; however, that cleared up quickly. I was looking for a mat for my home practice. Having had shoulder surgery, I need a mat that wouldn't slip. I also wanted one that was environmentally friendly and durable enough to not only hold up to my regular practice, but to stand up to any of my 5 rescue dogs who occasionally like to join me in my practice. At first, I did find the mat mildly slippery in down dog, but I realized that as I sweat the mat became more grippy so I started wetting it slightly at the start of my practice which solved the slipping issue. I do have a slight crack in the cork, but was told by the seller it's easily repaired with wood glue. I'm waiting for that to arrive and I anticipate it will be an easy fix. The set came with a very sturdy cork block. I often use 2 blocks so it would have been a good option to have a set that came with 2 blocks. I would recommend this mat and I would buy it again.

So first off, it has only been about a week since I got my mat, but, I do practice everyday, so I have a pretty good feel for the thing. I love this cork mat, it feels supportive when I practice on it. It doesn't slip, and the length is very nice, I'm 5"7. I hope it holds up for the long haul because I want to keep using this mat in my practice. It's a little heavy compared to the thin mat I used before, but totally worth it for the support and comfort I feel when practicing. When I ordered it, the mat arrived much sooner than I expected, that was a pleasant surprise. It has a slight smell, like new mat, that went away quickly. All in all, absolutely LOVE IT!!

This is a very nice yoga mat and is made of a sustainable material that the Wine makers are rejecting in favor of plastics and metal. When you buy this may you are buying a product made from a natural farmed product.

Comfortable weighty mat. There are some small spots where the cork doesn't completely cover the mat, but it's not really noticeable and can't be felt when using it. Only concern is that the cork might start peeling from there in the future.

Love the kit. Love the look. Mat is more slippery than I guess I thought it would be. I practice at home, so it's ok.

Love my new cork yoga mat . I've been practicing almost every day with it for the past 10 days . I get lots of compliments on it and it's really cool and the cork feels great. A wonderful family owned company and it feels good to know my yoga mat was made with love .

Love everything in this package! The mat has amazing grip and a really soft feel, the yoga block is amazing, and the straps are awesome. The fact that it's all sustainable and eco-friendly makes it even better! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a long term quality yoga mat.
