Seems very sturdy— definitely okay to handle in almost any way when it is empty, and when it is filled (especially with rocks, etc) I have experienced no problems, but I do try to handle it from the bottom, instead of lifting by hooking your fingers in the top.I have a larger version of this was well, both sizes planted with cacti and succulents—low water, low humidity—and they love it! I haven’t experienced too much humidity retention in there, certainly no problems with rotting. Because of this though, I am not sure how much humidity you will really be able to retain for a higher humidity plant, such as a fern or orchid.I have watered this only twice in the several months I’ve had it, but never had any issues with leakage.Would enthusiastically recommend this as a gift, or if you are just looking for a way to showcase some beautiful plants.
