How many miligrams per capsule?

Robin L. Very observant answer!! It states on the label, 'Serving size 3 capsules'. Then also on the label it states, 'Amount per serving 1200 mg.' So each capsule is 400 mg. Ah the tricks of any label. So I will also add.... These are great, fresh herbs. Definitely did the job I wanted it to do! I like this product.

Can you empty the capsules and make a poultice?

I'm sure you can! I can't swallow pills easily, so I always open the capsules and pour them in water to drink when taking internally. You'll have to use several caps at a time to make a poultice, of course. Good luck!

Does this slippery elm thicken up if put in warm liquid, or is it a powder?

These are capsules. I hear that the liquid form tastes terrible.
