does this product contain magnesium stearate

No! The Slippery Elm capsule is Polysaccharide. All Oregon's Wild Harvest Herbs are the finest quality, wouldn't take any other. Hope this helps.

How many miligrams per capsule?

Robin L. Very observant answer!! It states on the label, 'Serving size 3 capsules'. Then also on the label it states, 'Amount per serving 1200 mg.' So each capsule is 400 mg. Ah the tricks of any label. So I will also add.... These are great, fresh herbs. Definitely did the job I wanted it to do! I like this product.

Can you empty the capsules and make a poultice?

I'm sure you can! I can't swallow pills easily, so I always open the capsules and pour them in water to drink when taking internally. You'll have to use several caps at a time to make a poultice, of course. Good luck!

Does this slippery elm thicken up if put in warm liquid, or is it a powder?

These are capsules. I hear that the liquid form tastes terrible.
