When would you use this product, or would you use them both together?** A: I'm not sure. Our feature is about 250 gallons with 7 good sized fish. I start using the product in the spring, through the summer and into the fall. I stop using it when it gets cool enough to stop feedin the fish. Since we live in the Seattle area the pond does not freeze over in the winter and I don't use any winter produces in the water. Some of our gold fish have been around since 2001. **Q: What is the difference between this product and Microbe-lift Sludge Away?** A: Sludge away product is formulated for reducing the amount of organic debris that settles to the bottom of the pond. The PL product is designed to remove ammonia, nitrates, and other toxins from the water that are produced by fish waste and decaying organic debris. **Q: Do I add to the waterfall reservoir ( bags filled with lava rock) or the pond itself? Thanks** A: Hello, You may add it to any section of your pond as long as it will be circulated.Thank you,Marvin Gardens Store **Q: Can this be used in a pool for swimming?** A: It can be used for a swimming pool as long as chlorine is not used as sanitizer. There are two concerns in using beneficial bacteria in a swimming pool: 1. Chlorine will kill the beneficial bacteria. 2. And swimming pools traditionally use a type of filter that works best with chemicals (chlorine). ## Frequently Bought Together - MICROBE-LIFT 10PLQ PL Pond Bacteria and Outdoor Water Garden Cleaner, Safe for Live Koi Fish, Plant Life, and Decor, 32 Ounces - MICROBE-LIFT ALGA32 Algaway 5.4 Algae Control Treatment for Ponds and Water Gardens, Safe for Koi Fish, Goldfish, Plants, and Decorations, 32 Ounces - MICROBE-LIFT 10XSSCX1 Spring and Summer Pond and Outdoor Water Garden Cleaner, Safe for Live Koi Fish, Plant Life, and Decor, 16 Ounces --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/225172646-10plq-pl-pond-bacteria-and-outdoor-water-garden-cleaner-safe](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/225172646-10plq-pl-pond-bacteria-and-outdoor-water-garden-cleaner-safe) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
