“Dr. Natasha has done it again! Gut and Physiology Syndrome takes an in-depth look at the underlying causes of today's health crisis--environmental and dietary poisons--and then provides a comprehensive plan for detoxification and nourishment to achieve the good health and clear mind that is the birth right of every adult and every child.”–Sally Fallon Morell, President of The Weston A. Price Foundation Companion volume to the bestselling Gut & Psychology Syndrome— the book that launched the GAPS diet—which has been translated into 22 languages and sold more than 300,000 copies. Since the publication of the first GAPS book, Gut and Psychology Syndrome, in 2004, the GAPS concept has become a global phenomenon. People all over the world have been using the GAPS Nutritional Protocol for healing from physical and mental illnesses. The first GAPS book focused on learning disabilities and mental illness. This new book, Gut and Physiology Syndrome , focuses on the rest of the human body and completes the GAPS concept. Allergies, autoimmune illness, digestive problems, neurological and endocrine problems, asthma, eczema, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, psoriasis and chronic cystitis, arthritis and many other chronic degenerative illnesses are covered. Dr. Campbell-McBride believes that the link between physical and mental health, the food and drink that we take, and the condition of our digestive system is absolute. The clinical experience of many holistic doctors supports this position.

Eye opening and thought provoking!
I'm on my second reading of this book. There's a ton of information about the human body, our relationship with microbes, and how food can bring your health back into balance. If you want to learn how to become healthier without drugs or supplements give this book a read.

The best book about gut health you can ever read.
This book is an absolute gold mine in overall health. No doubt that Dr. Natasha Campbell is an absolute top top expert in her field of medicine. This book takes you on a journey of our microbiome, toxicities, many of all modern day ailments and diseases, and how to heal from this. The author even goes as far to explain that healing is a spiritual journey and she goes so deep as to touch the readers heart with how well written and expressive she is about this. This book was so good that it even made me cry when she gets into spirituality and battling a chronic illness. I've read this book front to back twice and I still skim through it and learn more and more each time I open it again. This book is the GUT BIBLE. An absolute treasure when it comes to natural healing.

Recommend this book but do some of your own research
Only four stars because her ideas are a little unorthodox. Just need a little time and research to confirm data A highly informed book with lots of info and good ideas

Want to build your God-given immune system?
This book can bring you up to date about your natural immune system, and then you’ll be way ahead of most doctors, who are done with school. The medical field has chopped up the human body into unrelated parts, and guess what, our body parts and functions are actually connected. If you need more help than you’ve gotten, read this book and empower yourself. BTW, this update from the author’s original work is a whole new level of insight. Even if you have her prior books, this is a must read.

Brilliant book full of crucially important dietary information
I have read all of Natasha’s books and for me, this is the best one yet. The book is well written, engaging to read and a mine of information. Well worth buying a copy for yourself plus friends and family. To keep healthy this is the nuts and bolts of what we need to know in terms of diet and even lifestyle. Thank you Dr Natasha for writing this book!

100% worth the read, AND the GAPS journey
Amazing book! I have been on the GAPS protocol for almost 3 months now, and it has helped with my mood, hormonal balance, brain fog, blood sugar levels, and is slowly beginning to affect my skin as well ( I struggled with hormonal, cystic acne since I can remember). I also don't have sugar cravings anymore, which is a recent change. My mom decided to do the diet with me just for support and she started noticing that her memory started improving dramatically - something she'd been struggling with more in the last few years and had all started worrying about. Before she noticed the improvement, we hadn't made the connection that this diet can affect memory as well! After noticing the changes we read up on it and it turns out there IS a proven connection between GAPS and Alzheimer's. My mom is certain that protocol has improved her life drastically, and may have prevented some early symptoms of dimentia/Alzheimer's .For all the intricacies of our bodies, this book is an excellent resource to understand what, why, and how. As I am going through the diet I keep reading and learning new things. For those considering to go on the GAPS diet for similar reasons, know that it takes time. As Dr. Natasha Mc Bride says, some people will need to be on this protocol for up to two years! For me, it took one week until my I felt amazing, and then after a month I started losing weight (maybe 7 pounds which was still a healthy weight), but a couple of weeks later I felt absolutely terrible - with brain fog, mood swings etc! It felt like I had back-tracked majour time. I found out later that when you lose weight fast, the toxins stored in your fat cells go into your blood stream and can make the symptoms you were trying to get away from, even worse. It was an odd feeling, realizing how toxic my fat must have been!! That wishy-washy state I was in, lasted about three weeks, but after that, my body regulated itself and after that, it's been smooth sailing (I also gained back the weight I had lost, which which is still a healthy level, and now I guess I have cleaner fat? Haha). All in all, I think it's extremely important to understand what is happening to your body, when going through this miraculous but complex protocol. Otherwise I would not have understood what is happening to me and may have given up. I'm so happy that I followed through, although the first couple of months were a bit of a roller coaster. But for both my mom and myself, it was 1000% worth it and I feel like I want to call out to everyone on the with a chronic disorder, to research and consider this diet. But it's not that easy - the person needs to want to heal, and needs to be okay doing the research, spending the time, and be open to the fact that conventional western medicine doesn not know everything yet (and that big pharma is trying to suppress a lot of proven information from reaching the public). However, I believe that in the next couple of decades, this will be mainstream information. Also - My mom's symptoms seem to be improving faster than mine, although three months in I already feel so much better, and I would never consider going back to my old lifestyle. And the best part is - the food tastes SO GOOD! at one point I was told to go on a diet which was gluten and egg, soy and corn free, and to only eat low fat meat. Which, obviously there was something on it (especially with conventional food production). I thought I had to now start substituting all my foods for less - delicious versions of the food. Like rice bread without eggs (which will never beat glutenous bread - or the egg and nut bread I now make which is soooooo good! and would barely fill me up), and same with dry meats, no butter, etc. It just didn't taste great - I always felt like I was losing out. Now that I know that the best way is to eat whole foods, I just love every meal that I eat! There are some recipe books on Amazon like the "Heal your Gut" cookbook by Hilary Boynton and Mary Brackett - which makes it fun to make food and makes the process less overwhelming at first.Anyways, I could rave on about how great this book is but I will end with these three points:- This GAPS protocol has drastically improved my family's and my life and for that I am forever grateful- Get informed by reading this book (or the other, yellow one, depending on your symptoms) as well as other supporting research- get support through videos/cookbooks if you do consider going on this journey. All the best! <3
