Elderberry seeds need to be stratified twice
Received my seeds and they look like they are in great condition. None are crushed or damaged. I see a lot of negative reviews about them not germinating. Elderberry takes a long time to propargate. Like 2 years sometimes longer. They have to be double stratified which means a warm cold cycle twice to wake the seeds up because they have such a dense covering. I mix seed starter and a little sand in a baggie and put them near the heater for around 3 months. (I am leaving in my green house for the summer this time) you want them kept around 68 degrees or more. Then place the bag in the fridge on the bottom shelf of your door for around 12 to 14 weeks. I put my bag in a container to avoid being crushed accidently. After you remove the bag from the fridge you can plant them. I start mine in pots in the fall moving them indoors when i see the first snow flakes start to fall and i use grow lights on a 12 hour timer. You won't start to see sprouts until after a year, (sometimes closer to 2). Once you see sprouts you can safely transplant them outdoors to their permanent home. I move the pots from indoors and outside during the warm months and back indoors once fall starts until I see them sprouting. You have to have patience to grow elderberry. If you want a quicker grow time you can propargate elderberry from trimmings as they will root from trimmings

Did not grow at all.
Dismal. Not one single seed germinated as I followed the instructions exactly. Very disappointed.

Seeds are a hit or miss
Not a successful seed to plant. Maybe I chose the wrong time of year, but will definitely try again.

Difficult to grow
Small seeds need to be scored, then cold striated… nothing has germinated yet

STERILE SEEDS
I purchased a special nursery with the pods to place the seeds. Followed all the instructions for depth and watering, and bought a plant gro-lite but NO LIFE from these seeds. Too late to start again. Will have to order plants already growing. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT AND WASTE OF MONEY.

Lack of information
I ordered these seeds to grow elderberry bushes. There were no instructions on how to plant them, though it did have a QR code which I cannot use because I don't have a phone to scan it. If you are going to sell seeds, there should be WRITTEN instructions on how, when, where, etc. to plant. Telling me there are specific planting techniques without saying just what they are, does me absolutely no good!
