Coiled Spring Extra Heavyweight Stainless Steel Utility Tong, 16-Inch

I often take a while to review products, I like to test out items thoroughly before leaving feedback. These tongs have truly earned 5 stars, & then some. When I first received these, my first thought was "Woah, they're heavy, yay!" Husband said they were exactly like the tongs chefs used in the restaurants that he worked at- tongs that would get thrown across the room, hit the wall, get a rinse & go right back to work without a flaw. I believe it. They are sturdy, have a solid grip, are easy to handle & keep closed around objects, are proven durable, gorgeous, & so daggum useful. I've used them to pick up cast iron pans out of fires, turn coals over, flip foil packages, turn sausages without tearing the casing, spin pizza pans in my conventional oven, fish out bones from stock pots before filtering the liquid, & whatever else comes to mind where I want to reach something hot. They keep a firm grip on food without being destructive, they are easy to handle, easy to clean. I store them on a hook on my wall, they cannot fit in my over-stuffed drawers & utensil barrels, but that's not a problem at all for me. After months of hard use, they still look & act like brand new. 100% satisfied with these & would highly recommend them.

I bought these to use on outings when I grill over a campfire. These tongs are long, sturdy and cheap. Long to keep my hands away from the heat. Sturdy to withstand heavy use and abuse. Cheap because equipment tends to get lost and broken during camping trips. They also don't have any rubber, plastic, or wood on them that could be damaged if they accidentally get dropped into a fire. I own a set of the 17-inch Rösle tongs but I don't want to take them camping because they cost over 5 times as much as the 16-inch Winco tongs. The Winco tongs are a decent alternative for camping. They have the same usable length because the length of the Rösle includes the hanging loop. The Winco and Rösle tongs are comparable in strength as they use the same thickness of stainless steel. However, the Rösle tongs are more comfortable to hold, and they have a lock to keep them closed. The main downside of the Winco UT-16HT tongs is that they don't have a lock to keep them closed. Winco makes the "heavy duty" UTLK-16 with a lock, but they are not even close to the strength of the "extra heavyweight" UT-16HT. If you need the lock functionality, you should look at the Edlund 4416HDL, or more expensive tongs like the Rösle.

This Winco heavy-duty stainless steel utility tongs with a spiral spring are very practical for barbecues. They feel strong and durable, making it easy to handle hot food safely. The spring mechanism works well and provides a comfortable grip. Overall, a reliable and useful tool for cooking and grilling.

These tings are great for grilling, but always default to “open” without any lock or mechanism to keep them closed. I bought them for the grill, but they don’t have any easy way to hang from the hooks on my grill.

These are the best, inexpensive stainless steel tongs for reliable firm grasping especially over hot coals during BBQing. Long reach (16 inch pair)keeps your hands cool over hot coals as well. My husband has used this set of tongs while cooking for years and I finally got him a new one after rubber band we used to keep it together at the area you hold on to (has a rivet that started to rust) was getting well worn! After 20+ years! These are very sturdy and simple to clean. He refuses to use more expensive, poor grasping tongs we have tried in the past. Sturdiness: Years of reliable handling. Use: BBQ I hand all sorts of cooking. Size: 16 inch great for reaching over hot coals Ease of cleaning: Simple design with no nooks or crannies to get into. Tongs open wide for easy cleaning. Versatility: Can use while cooking heavy steaks and ribs to delicate fish and small vegetable pieces .

These are NOT fancy. But they are strong, well made and long. I use these on a PK360 grill with everything from small items to large steaks when reverse searing them on a HOT fire. They grab and hold the meat with assurance and they are long enough to keep my hands out of the fire. The steel gauge is heavy and they do not wobble or twist when stressed. They do NOT have a lock to keep them closed. I hand wash them and they have not rusted. I do believe they are said to be dishwasher safe. I just don't do that. Can't beat the price.

i got these to use while campfire cooking & they work so great!!! the spring is a little sticky, but otherwise they have been a joy to use. these tongs are very heavy duty & an excellent value for the price of around $5. i am able to grab & move hot coals when baking/cooking with my cast iron dutch oven which requires very frequent rearranging of coals to maintain high temperatures. they are strong enough to position medium sized logs in the firepit as well, so a great asset for working a campfire. i'm sure they would work great to handle food over a grill at home, & for that i may purchase another set. the name brand version of these has a little metal clip that slides down to keep them closed, but they also cost twice as much or more. these winco tongs are also just as thick & strong as the more expensive version. some may complain that there is no way to close them, but i just use a thick rubberband from a bunch of broccoli to keep them closed when not in use, easy peasy. after years of messing around at the campfire with sticks & cheap grilling tongs i found at the thrift store, i can't imagine how i ever got along without some nice heavy duty long tongs like these, highly recommended!

These are hands down the best tongs for the money. They're the perfect length for grilling and if you have a draw big enough to hold them, they work great in the house too.

They are by far the best ones I’ve used. The only criticism is they need a hook or something to hang on a bbq.

Surprising great product. Not cheap at all, long enough to use on the BBQ without burning my hands. Dishwasher safe. We've used it a bunch and still no signs of rust or wear.
