Great beginner rod
Got this combo for my 6 year old some and it’s a perfect rod for a young kid to learn on! Reel is smooth, rod is sturdy, haven’t had any tangles in the 1&1/2 years he’s had it, and that price for an UglyStick is a no brainer!

Great Reel and Rod Combo
I bought these to have for guests at my lake camp. I’ve had so many open faced reels destroyed by guests that don’t know how to use them, so I decided to get some reels suitable for all levels of fishing. I must say though….I enjoy this combo very much and use it often!

Rod good....reel ok.
Reel came broken. I like the rod as I've generally like Ugly Stik products over the years. I use this for Pan Fish. I would likely by the spinning version of the rod again. The reels are not great though. I have two of them and they both have issues.

Terrible quality
Literally only opened the box and the reel has a crack on the rod mount portion. Brand new product... cracked so bad its unusable. Will never purchase another ugly stick product. Shipping box was in pristine condition so i highly suspect it left the factory like that. Rod tip is also extremely flimsy its like its made out of soft rubber.

nice rod, useless reel
Rod seems nice. used it for a day of pan-fishing and it worked very well. Reel is useless, with drag tightened all the way it still slips on small bluegills and perch, reel casted pretty well, but with no drag is junk. Rod is worth the price when this was on sale otherwise would be a very poor value due to reel being useless.

The greenie beanie fish mate
I love this pole, lightweight but still strong enough for the big fish. My Grandson Cooper always takes it from me, for him at 11 years it’s light enough for a perfect cast and landing the perfect catch!

Not the best version of the ugly stick brand
A little more flimsy than what I would expect from an ugly stick . Small game fish would be ok also had an issue with the line hanging up inside of the spool area.
