There are holes on the sheath to instal the metal TDI clip if you prefer that. For my purpose I found the straps worked fine. The shape of the knife itself works well for combatives. Whether you're holding it in a reverse grip or a regular grip it fits comfortably and its easy to retain. I wore it on the Velcro portion of my duty belt on a left side appendix carry then placed the main duty belt over top of it. This gave me access to it with both hands if needed for either firearm retention and an attack or a block an attack depending on the situation. It was out of the way and the grip was large enough to grab in a high stress situation. The only drawback I found was, if you ever put on weight or have a large stomach it may affect the way you carry it. I gained some weight while working that complex and the knife became unconformable to carry. All in all, if your physiology allows you to carry this knife I highly recommend it. To note, you can equip this knife with the TDI belt clip to use it on thinner belts.
