I wasn't sure if 20lbs was enough, but after using this vest for about 3 weeks, I can confirm it is more than enough for my intended use. The vest itself is well made and strong. The pockets for the weights are sturdy and I have no concern with them unintentionally opening. With the 20lbs of weight, there are a bunch of empty pockets to add more weight. I distributed the weights evenly between the front and back. The vest is comfortable on my shoulders with just a T-shirt under it. There are two set of front d-rings for the chest strap. One set for those with larger chests and one for those with smaller chests. This allows you to secure the vest as tight as you want. All of the straps and buckles are heavy duty and feel like they will last a very long time. My only gripe with this vest is the ease of putting it on and taking it off. I have a big head and wear glasses and earbuds when running. To put this on or take it off, I have to remove my glasses and earbuds to fit my head through the opening. It's a minor inconvenience, but something to keep in mind if you plan on taking this on and off a lot. I have seen some vests that have a front zipper.
