BBQ Grilling Skewers

A really good product and skewers the chicken use with ease

Absolutely brilliant skewers - decent quality metal, chunky, long enough and flat bladed. They clean up very easily. The fabric storage pouch is a bonus as well.

These do the job well, they're a million times better than wooden skewers at actually holding onto what you've skewered, but because they're a little thin, it can be hard to get a good grip to turn them without the length of the skewer bending slightly under the weight. The metal is good quality and hasn't rusted or stained in the two years I've had them, and it's better than wood because as the metal heats up, it cooks the inside of the food too, albeit at a slower rate. All in all these are solidly made, and the bag it comes with is a nice touch, makes it very easy to store away without fear of contamination, I just wish the metal was slightly thicker so they wouldn't bend as much.

I was looking for a simple way to use my Kamado Bono as a Tandoori oven to cook kebabs. These Mountain Grillers Kebab Skewers - 17” Stainless Steel Skewers work perfectly. The unique way they are shaped at the top creates a neat handle for easy handling. Even better though, the steel is really springy and by opening the handles up they clip nicely over the lip of the Kamado chimney. This holds the skewers firmly in place without the risk of them falling inside the Kamado. The skewers are very sturdy too. I used a raw potato wrapped in foil below the chicken I was cooking to stop the meat from sliding off. Getting the raw potato onto the skewer took some force but, the skewer didn't bend. The skewers were easy to clean and a quality storage pouch is included. I'm very happy with these skewers. Thank you.

That said they're really nice kebab skewers which are suitable for larger bits of stuff too. Sharp enough to wedge securely into a corn cobb without any difficulty (be careful). The length is really handy if you have a larger bbq. My only negative comment would be that due to the way the metal is folded they're only really secure on one side as the other is smooth so can more easily slip off the rim of the bbq. Would probably buy again but shouldn't need to, though I'm considering a style that's more secure in all four orientations.
