ROCKBROS Aluminum MTB Pedals Wide Platform Flat Pedals with Sealed Bearings

This was a no-brainer upgrade for my mother's Ozark Trail M.2 Ridge hardtail. At first she mentioned the out-of-the-box pedals felt fine on a few test-rides in the back yard, then doing some steep hills in our neighborhood. Fast forward to taking her to a proper green trail - she immediately remarked about feeling her feet bouncing or slipping off of the pedals. Today I was able to complete her bike upgrades and this is one of the items I installed for her. First, the flats on the ROCKBROS pedals for a 15mm wrench are wide enough to actually accept a 15mm wrench, unlike the standard pedals which required creative solutions to remove. The solid aluminum construction is very no-nonsense - stability and toughness are very evident over any stock plastic pedals. From what I can tell, the anodization is of good quality, and the bright red color matched the headset spacers I got for her 15x110 Boost spacing fork. For under 30 bucks, the ROCKBROS pedals gives even a Wal-Mart bike crankset a very confident feeling that you would expect to pay at least half again for. As the things that make an immediate difference for the rider go, this set of pedals is a great value for anyone who is looking to get their bike trail ready. Got mom on the bike this afternoon and she immediately remarked about how the pedals felt better and felt them gripping her shoes much better than the stock plastic Wally World special. Job done. For under 30 bucks.

I replaced my pedals after a crash on my eBike. The bearings were already "gritty" before the crash. These are real nice, look good. Sealed bearing are tight when new; that's because they are sealed. If you want them to free spin go get "El Cheapo." They are rock-solid and stable. I am a big fellow and a 69 year bicyclist. These grip my shoes and are comfortable, are good fit. I'm happy! Thin equals better ground and obstacle clearance. I worry as I go close to curb and gutter or when deeply leaning of a pedal strike but I like to pedal in and out of a turn. Using an Allen Wrench worked easy for me. I have a machine shop. I cut threads on my lathe and I saw no mismatched threads. Technically, the CNC workmanship seemed precise. I did torque them to specs and I suggest you get into the habit of measuring torque. All pedals require exact alignment to start the threads so as to prevent cross-threading. I've been a thirty-five year member of The League of American Wheelmen and take pride in my workmanship and my bikes function and how they work and look!

So as we all know, stock pedals are just there so you can ride your bike home. 😉 I was considering purchasing red Deity pedals since I have orange ones on my Mukluk, but I had some concerns which I will address below. TL;DR: Light weight & solid; Gorgeous-looking color and design; Pins give fantastic grip w/MTB shoes and don't scrape up the legs; To start, I wasn't necessarily looking for aluminum pedals, but I wanted something that looked good with my red accents. I happened upon these because I REALLY wanted something that wasn't "boxy-looking" -- concern 1. Concern 2, I wanted good pins to grip my shoes, but I didn't want to gouge my calves every time the pedals brush up against them. The pins on these are absolutely perfect! They are slightly rounded on the edges, and my feet are firmly in place and never slide around, even when I get wet or muddy. As a note, I have 5 Ten Freerider MTB shoes. As for the looks, they are absolutely gorgeous!! The red pedals with the chrome pins looks so sharp - not that people see that when you're riding, but hey, it's the little things right? Also, the fact that they are a bit tapered at the ends is exactly what I was looking for (concern 3). And the aluminum aspect of it I think is awesome. They're lighter than my expensive-ish nylon pedals on my Mukluk. Now there is one thing I do want to mention, and I do not know if this is a good or bad thing: I am not a gearhead or anything, but with these pedals I do notice that they don't spin very freely. By that, I mean for example, when you try to make 'em spin by slapping one side or by using your garden hose when you're washing it, they don't spin much. I do know enough about bearings to know if they are loose or too tight, and they feel just fine. I definitely don't notice it at all when I'm riding, however I did want to mention that. I truly love these pedals a ton, and I plan on getting another pair for my next full-suspension MTB!! 😎

These pedals are solid for the price. While they are nice and light compared to composite or factory pedals, they leave something to be desired. The E-Torx studs don't provide as much grip as the threaded type you usually see. Also, the area is a good amount smaller than other pedals I've used, including the factory ones I used these to replace. They function pretty well so far

The pedals arrived quickly and were very easy to install. The are solidly built and have a good "heft" to them. I purchased them for the purpose of having more contact surface with the pedal, as well as the metal studs that provide excellent traction between pedal and foot. I would purchase them again, but I'm sure I will not have to.

These definitely feel more sturdy than my previous bike. (The previous bike had nylon pedals) the installation was easy, I’d recommend that thread lock is used. They feel well made and gave my bike that extra detail it needed to make it my own. Will test out soon and update the review after a few rides. I

Great pedals and durable for the price. I went on a desert track and had quite a few rock strikes. They held up nicely with minimal damage

Ordered this to blend into my wife's black-red themed folding bike. I overlooked that there is no reflector but looking at the color it should be shinny enough. Aside from that, it looks great and solid, haven't tried it out for a spin though. I'll update this review if I see similar things described in other reviews. It'll just be used for light rides, around 2-3 times per month 70-100km per ride on mostly cemented roads with little uphill routes, should not be stressed too much.
