Vertagear Racing Series S-Line SL4000 Ergonomic Racing Style Gaming Office Chair - White/Black

In brief:Being a car guy (with a background in furniture), I was really drawn to the design of Vertagear chairs and wanted to like it so bad but it just didn't work. I couldn't bring myself to buy any of the tacky racing chairs from competing brands but I regret that I had so much trouble from the SL-4000.Issues in detail:Pulling the parts out of the box, I already had mixed feelings about the chair. While it appeared to be packed well, there wasn't enough padding to protect the parts from being pressed together. Dents in the side bolsters and shoulder areas were immediately noticeable. I was tempted to return them based on the dents alone but I decided to build the chair. Big mistake. The gas lift wasn't the same model as the one pictured on Amazon (it has been revised since) and the plastic cover for the lift wasn't the correct size. The chair would sit too low at the lowest point and the plastic housing cracked from being pressed together. Had the chair shipped with the original gas lift, this most likely wouldn't have been an issue. Once built, the backrest didn't sit straight. The left side sat slightly further back than the right and no matter how much I fiddled with the screws, I couldn't get it straight. I was disappointed but still really liked the design of the chair so I decided to start an exchange for the same model.As if it was some cruel joke, the second chair had the same dents on the backrest and this time, one of the 5 star base legs arrived poking out of the box. The same elongated gas lift was packed in the box and once again, sat too low and bent the plastic housing around the lift. If that wasn't enough, the backrest didn't sit straight on this chair either. I even swapped the bases and backrests from the first chair that I hadn't returned yet and they still sat crooked!! BOTH of them!! To make matters worse, the padding in the seat cushions were inconsistent. One was moderately soft while the other was stiff as a brick.At this point I was really upset and decided to contact Vertagear if they could send me a different gas lift and address the other issues I had. They were prompt with their response, but they offered me anything BUT customer service. I was told that the gas lift was the correct model, then after reiterating that I didnt get what was advertised, I was told that it was revised due to feedback from customers. The issue with the cracked and bent plastic housing was ignored entirely.Bottom line:For $339, I expected a great chair and at least decent customer service. I got neither and wasted over two weeks of my time trying to make these chairs work. For what it's worth, the chair is sturdy and the materials are mostly good. Good luck getting a proper chair though.

I am generally happy with the chair but there are a few things I am not thrilled about. For my preference there is not enough padding in the backrest. I bought this chair for work because I work 12 hour shifts and expected the chair to be designed for long periods of use. I am also slightly displeased with the arm rests. When you lean back in the chair your elbows can't touch the arm rests also they could use some additional padding.

Comfortable chair at a reasonable price point. It was initially a tight fit on outside of my thighs. I have to bring my legs closer together to reduce the pressure on the outside of my thighs.

This chair is extremely comfortable. The shipping was on time. Amazing quality.

The mechanism holes don't line up with pre-mount holes, making it impossible to put the chair together. Instant return on this defective item. Considered going with another company but decided to order another color to give this company a second chance, will update review after shipment arrives.

Let's be clear this is a very nice chair. It's comfortable and looks good. However it didn't quite meet my expectations and here's why:1) First surprise: The "white" is is a slightly creamy off-white. This is not bad, but the picture led me to believe otherwise. Also the straps for the back pillow are pure white and don't match. This detracts from the look.2) Assembling the bottom plate was quite hard as the holes were a little misaligned. Luckily it comes with good quality screws or assembly would certainly have failed.3) The chair tilts, but you cannot lock it at arbitrary angles. So you can either lean back (unlocked) or sit straight (locked). You cannot set it to lock at say 10 degrees. This was very disappointing. You do get a knob on the bottom of the chair that regulates unlocked tilt resistance though, it's kind of hard to reach and operate.4) It's not very high. For me (1.85m) it feels just a bit too low.5) The seat (so the part where you park your butt) is fixed. Meaning it does not slide forward or backward at all.6) Mine was slightly scoffed.7) I'm not a fan of the arm supports. This I already knew from the picture. I don't think they match the design very well.8) An assembly guide is not a manual! Really, I would like a detailed description of the various levers and buttons.9) On the site then mention this: "Backrest - Our backrest is separate from the seat, it is adjustable in height and angle. Our backrest support the natural curve of the spine, with special attention paid to proper support of the lumbar region." I have yet to find to adjust the height of the back. It's bolted on to the seat, so I'm not sure what they're talking about.On the plus side: The leather- and carbon-look materials look and feel nice. It has good wheels. General seating comfort is very good. I love the little pillows (I have a bad back). I'm not unhappy with it, but I'm somewhat disappointed.Note: Box weighs 28kg.

Voilà maintenant un peu plus d'un an que j'ai ce siège et je n'en suis pas satisfait. Tout à commencé au montage : obligé de sortir la perceuse pour agrandir un trou où une vis devait passer. Ensuite au bout de quelques jours d'utilisation c'est un cache latéral qui a cédé, et enfin depuis quelques jours c'est au tour du vérin de rendre l'âme. Certes l'assise et confortable, mais la finition et la qualité ne sont pas du tout au rendez vous, ce qui est un comble pour un fauteuil à ce prix. Je déconseille fortement ce modèle et je vais me tourner vers d'autres marques plus robuste.
