3D Scanner Z17or Somatosensory Camera for 3D Printer Handheld Body Face Object Scan 3D Modeling ROS Robot with Software

PROS: Well packaged Seems to be well crafted and engineered. CONS: All the documentation except for one url and an instruction to contact the retailer via e-mail with any issues was in Chinese. Well and good if the product is sold in China but it leaves non-Chinese readers such as myself at a major disadvantage. No documentation as to how to setup up the drivers, but knowing the name of the hardware I was able to search at least that out on my own. Nothing listed as to the minimal hardware specifications either

MUST have I5 or newer PC. Video MUST support OpenCL or software will not work. Manual and software had to be downloaded from "GitHub." Tried downloading software direct. (ReconstructMe.org) Worked fine on I9, 8 cores, dual video, BUT software is VERY basic. Poor resolution. (polygons) Couldn't find alternate software that would recognize the device even though the device was operating as a webcam. You get what you pay for, but who wouldn't TRY 3D printing a "selfie" for $100? I rate it 2, because Amazon has an excellent return policy & I found a better solution searching for better software.

This product sucks the AP that came with it did not work with the device and yes i know how to work with computer's.

The machine came in a solid little box, look expensive. On first look at the unit, it is nicely made, very solid with the look of an expensive machine. Inside the box is a small printed paper with a site that you can get info. I entered the site and download an English manu and a software called Reconst Me and a driver for running the unit. After I loaded all those into my computer, nothing was working. My computer did not recognize the scanner. After contacting the seller, they at once provided me a new site where I can get a new driver. It worked this time. I managed to scan myself and created a 3D object good for printing if I wanted. However this is the only success I got. Whatever else I wanted to scan cannot be seen on the screen of the Reconstruct Me program. I could have set the wrong size or lighting. I tried to use the Skanect program but it does not recognize the scanner. So I do not know whether it is my lack of knowledge to use the machine or it is beautiful junk. So I rate it 50/50.
