Sanyun SW102 Computer Speakers for Desktop PC Laptop, 2.0 USB Powered

I was a little confused by the Amazon reviews for these speakers. I was looking for a set of small speakers to complement my new desktop pc and very high spec - but speakerless - 27" monitor. The pc will be used mainly for CAD and image processing but I like a little music while I work and I do play the odd driving game. For serious gaming I will use a set of quality headphones but I wanted a set of fairly low cost speakers for casual listening. I have had monster speaker kits for pc in the past but they take up too much room and I end up turning the volume right down to avoid disturbing others anyway so..... just a simple set will do as long as the sound is reasonably good. The Sanyun SW102s looked ideal and most reviews confirmed this. However, there were a few very negative ones including at least one stating that the good reviews were all fake and the product was junk! Well, you always get a few weird reviews (and reviewers) and if they were really junk they would go back to Amazon for a refund - at the price it was certainly worth the risk of minor hassle. Well, the positive reviews were spot on and I really don't know what the negative ones were listening to or expecting. No, they don't sound as good as the Mission speakers in my lounge - but they cost 20 times less! They are perfect for my needs and the sound is actually far better than I expected for the price. They were 'plug and play; I just plugged the power and audio leads into the back of the pc, placed the speakers either side of my monitor stand (so they effectively take up no desk space) and got perfectly adequate sound. Plenty loud enough for music and casual gaming with none of the 'tinny' sound described by some negative reviews and they are silent (to my ears anyway) when no sound is being sent from the pc. I can understand that the blue lights are not to everyone's taste and it would be nice if they could be switched off. However, the fact that they stay on after I close down the pc reminds me that its still using energy and I should really switch off at the wall socket. Delivery was amazingly fast - pretty much next working day - and far earlier than promised. For what they are and what they promise for the price, I can't fault these speakers and the customer service was exemplary.

Right then, down to the details: Sizewise they're nice and small (8cm tall and 10cm wide) so they fit rather nicely under the monitor so they minimise the space they take up. Sound quality is ok for their size, depending on what you want them for. If you're just after general use speakers for laptop or light use they're absolutely grand - if you want them for music playback or gaming then they're ok, but don't quite have the depth of sound needed. There's a volume control wheel on the wire connecting one of the speakers - it works well, but can sometimes be difficult to reach if you are using a fixed pc setup. Not a problem with laptop as the leads are long enough for portable devices, but I'd have preferred the control to be mounted in one of the speakers for ease of access. As regards the blue light, it's decent - not too bright if you're working in low light conditions, though make sure it's not in a powered usb port (the type that's always 'on' to recharge gadgets) or the light will stay on permanently. Price-wise difficult to beat. They're a decent price and seem solidly built (as much as anything is these days...... I remember back when...... ).

I looked at the many positive reviews for this product and decided to buy two sets, one of me, one for my daughter. They arrived the next day, nicely packed. I opened one set. They certainly look nice speakers - much nicer than you expect for that price. I plugged them in. First, I played the slow movement from a Mozart string quartet. Lovely clear sound - so much better than from the cheapies I bought last year. Then I played O Patria Mia from Aida. There was significant distortion from the left speaker at the higher and louder notes. I played another version of the aria. The same. Then I tried the opening of Haydn's Nelson Mass. The left speaker sounded blown. And so I left the other box unopened and asked for an immediate refund on both. This is a shame, and perhaps I should have tried the other set and asked for a replacement for the ones I had tried. But, though the undistorted sound was admirable, I had lost trust in the product. I will wait for my refund to process and continue my search for new speakers. I wish I could say better than I have.

Received these today. Was a little unsure as they boasted about the bass and im not into bass. I however am very very impressed with the clarity these speakers provide. I tried these speakers at first with the pc game Red Dead Redemption and am very impressed with the level of detail in the sound. Eg the river in the background and the wind. I should add. I do not think they privide a massive bass. This was great for me as i didnt want a big bass. But if youre looking for that id perhaps find another set of speakers. But for a good, clear, good sounding pair of pc speakers i definitely recommend I have since tried playing music today and again very impressed. Also my previous, cheap, speakers took up too much space on my desk. These are pretty small and fit very well. I am very pleased with this purchase. Will update if i get any problems down the line.

I’ve had this speaker for about 3 months the audio is good however this has happed to me several times and I’m worried about this. So I was about to change the volume as I wasn’t getting any audio, with the slider however I burnt my finger and I look at the volume slider and it smells electrical and the actual plastic casing has burnt through. I switched off the speakers and I could still smell the electrical smell and the volume slider was still hot and was meting. I had put the spears and volume slider in open area with plenty airflow just in case uno. I waited 30 minutes to switch it back on and it’s fine but it’s does It again frequently and I’m worried if it’s cases a fire! Don’t but this

Like most ppl here I ordered based on the reviews. I had low expectations because so many folks just don't have great ears (no offense). Everybody has a different reference for what constitutes good sound quality and loads of folks have expectations when they buy. For me, I needed a cheap set of speakers for my desktop/tower because I had none (just the pathetic internal one). However I should point out that I am a musician and budding audiophile. I am prepared to spend money on good equipment but this was not one of those occasions. All I wanted was for the speakers to not suck. I'm happy to report that they don't. They are surprisingly loud but the advertised bass is not very deep at all. Like 180 Hz at best (low mids anyone?)... Still a vast improvement over laptop speakers and at such a low price, don't hesitate! Note that both the USB and 1/8" plug have to be connected for them to work. You won't power a party with these but you can fill a modest sized room while you are doing chores and boogie down. I tried some response tracks and attempted to "burn them in" a little and hopefully they will loosen up, especially the bass radiators, but I'm not holding my breath. They are not tinny or harsh and produce significant volume without rattles or much hiss. That's impressive for $35. You won't fool any audiophiles but add a cheap subwoofer to cover the missing bottom end and you'd be laughing.

Compact great sound quality, easy to install

I came across these speakers as I was searching for a pair of white colored ones. My initial choice was the one by Creative, but when I saw this came with blue lights, I ordered it immediately and only read the reviews after placing my order. Arrival was very quick, the next day! (Thank you seller for your excellent service!) I set them up immediately and like the very clear mid to treble range sound. The bass seems underpowered, but unless you really prefer a huge bass type, this speakers are more than adequate. I game quite a bit and listen mostly to classical music, so it's good at this price. There's a volume control which I set to maximum, and I use my keyboard's control to adjust and the volume has quite a huge range from very soft to very loud. Like one reviewer said, you cannot turn the blue lights off, but this isn't a problem at all as it looks very good. If you are looking for a nice looking pair of speakers with really clear sound this is it!

Bellissime e dal design accattivante. Qualità audio fuori scala rapportata al prezzo, bassi un po' assenti ma come supporto da utilizzare per i portatili ed eventuali PC economici vanno più che bene. + Qualità discreta + Bellissimo design + Luci dal colore freddo ma non fastidiose + Cavo discretamente lungo per una migliore installazione + Costo bassissimo - Non è possibile spegnere i Led luminosi - Bassi un po' assenti
