This purifier is amazing! Allergies, be gone!
This is now our 2nd Blue air purifier. I originally bought the smaller Blue 411+ for our bedroom and I was very impressed with how having that in our bedroom improved my lifelong allergies that I take a daily pill for. Prior to getting the smaller 411+ I would very often wake up with a stuffed nose. Yes, we do have 2 dogs but they are not allowed in the bedroom due to my allergies. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the smaller unit but after a couple days of it purifying the bedroom air, I noticed a huge difference. I began waking up with clear sinuses and the room smelled "different". Not a bad smell but maybe just NO smell? Anyhow, after giving the little Blue a good 30 days to prove itself, I knew I needed a larger one for our living room. This is also where our dogs (golden retriever and black lab) spend most of their time with us when they are inside. And having these 2 dogs and allergies doesn't make life super easy as cleaning goes. I have to vacuum daily or every other day (minimum) and will at times pull up what looks like a small dog inside my vacuum canister. Especially, when my golden is blowing her coat. Finally after comparing, I went ahead and ordered the Blue 311 Auto for our living room which is approximately 420sf. I also bought a separate filter cover that's shown in my pictures and an additional filter to have on hand. The unit arrived well packaged and without damage. It came with a main filter installed and a a light gray filter cover but tbh, I will use the light gray cover while cleaning and drying the dark gray cover I have on it now. I as I prefer the dark (name is actually Winter Reed) over the lighter gray. I also like the quality of the upgraded cover. It's a bit thicker and looks nice. The set up was simple. It's really just plug it in and go. I like that this unit has 4 mode settings and indicator lights to show air quality and when the filter needs replaced. I have noticed one time when out of nowhere the air quality sensor light briefly turned from blue to orange then back to blue. The light sensor color indicators and level info are Blue (good), Orange (moderate), and Red (polluted). The main filter change sensor is supposed to switch on after 6 months of use but I haven't had it long enough to confirm if that works yet. For maintenance, I do run my vacuum brush over the outer filter cover once a week to clean any dust off of it which, there always is. This was also an immediate indicator to me that this fella is doing its job! I will also run a damp cloth on the the plastic exterior at the same time just to keep it clean and in the best working condition. Noise Level: This 311 Auto unit has 4 modes. ✔Auto Mode: (fan speed will change depending on the air quality it senses). ✔Night Mode: (whisper quiet, low speed) ✔Everyday Mode: (medium speed) ✔Boost Mode: (fastest speed and very loud). Boost mode is like, wind tunnel loud! Way too loud for us to watch TV in the same room if it was on. But this mode is not for everyday use. The only time I've used boost mode is when there is a specific reason i.e.,dogs came in from rain or I may have cooked/baked something that has a lingering smell, etc. I would just turn it on boost for 10 minutes or so to dissipate whatever the odor issue may be. We typically have it set on auto mode or everyday mode and it's very, very quiet. I would say auto mode is more quiet or no louder than an average fan that's on it's lowest speed and everyday mode is maybe as loud as a fan on medium setting. ▪️Please see video I took of the different modes to show the sound difference between all four settings▪️ I have now had this particular unit running 24/7 for about 2 months and we love it! We live in Washington State so when it rains and our fur babies go out for break, any "wet dog" smell is gone in minutes if I kick in the boost mode but everyday mode will also take care of that within an hour or so. Sadly, I also know fire season will soon be upon us for summer and I have no doubt both units will do a fantastic job at keeping the quality of air inside our home filtered, clean and smelling fresh during the seasonal bad air quality. We will be tackling a full home remodel next year which we'll be adding central heating and air but even then, I plan on keeping both these units up and running! Would I recommend this Blueair 311 Auto? Absolutely 100%. Summary: All in all, if you suffer from allergies/asthma like me, have animals, or simply a home without filtered air and are teetering on whether or not to purchase, go for it! You won't regret it! Personally, these air purifiers have honestly changed my life! I wish I would've found this company sooner! I HIGHLY recommend! If I must find something negative, I guess I would have to say their OEM filter replacements are pricey but this was not a deterrent for me. They also offer an auto ship filter service for a discount. I give this an easy 5 star! (I was NOT paid for this review and was not asked to leave one. I have no affiliation with this company other than being a new-ish forever customer)! Hopefully this will help someone!

Form and function!
This is the second BlueAir air purifier I've purchased, and I absolutely love them. I use this one in my living/dining room, and I have it normally set on auto. It is whisper quiet when the air is clean, and still fairly quiet on the next level, only getting loud but still not unbearable on the highest setting when it is cleaning the air. I have a small kitchen so anytime we cook anything the smell inevitably fills the dining and living room. This air purifier then immediately kicks into high gear and within an hour cleans the air. Very efficient in that regard. It also does an excellent job of reducing dust, as much less dust accumulates on my furniture now. While I can say for a fact if that will help with allergy relief since fortunately I don't suffer from it, I assume less dust helps. While the air purifier is very light weight, it still feels very durable. It also looks great anywhere in the room, seamlessly blending into surrounding furniture unlike other air purifiers, and isn't too big or too small so can really fit anywhere. I'll definitely be purchasing more purifiers from this company for other rooms.

Improved our air quality with pellet stove
Really impressed with the results! We have a pellet stove and this winter's pellets have been incredibly dusty - to the point where the air inside our house was hazy looking. Within 20 minutes of it running we could notice huge difference within the entire downstairs of our home. I love the auto feature that allows the filter to decide which speed based on the particulates it measures in the air. It's been turning itself on high when our stove kicks on, and then reducing back to to a lower speed when the pellet stove isn't running. This unit is also significantly quieter than the cheaper, less effective filters we had running. I am absolutely considering smaller units for our bedrooms once we see how this one continues to perform in the next couple months.

It did help with some of my allergy issues; nice white noise sound
We've had this for a few years (4?) now and it seems to work well. It didn't totally eliminate my allergies (I didn't expect it to) but seems to make a noticeable difference. We like that it also acts as a white noise machine too for when we sleep. It definitely collects dust and pollen because when we change out the filter, it's pretty filthy. You know, I'm not sure if it's worth the price, and there're probably more budget friendly ones but I'm impressed that it's lasted as long as it has. It'll blink different colors when you need to replace the filter, which isn't that often, maybe 2x a year? Highlights - Purifies the air and colleges dust, pollen, etc. - Provides white noise - 3 different settings - customizable cloth to match your room Overall, it was a fair purchase for us and we're still using it. It is on the pricey end but for us it's had multiple functions so we're happy with it

Quiet and Efficient
This air purifier is quiet and efficient. It runs throughout the day mostly silent, cleans our air well, and has a beautiful design. I am impressed by how quiet this air purifier is! I've had many air purifiers over the years and most of them were loud, either with fans or electrical humming. The blueair purifier runs all day completely silent. This is one of the top reasons I wanted it. The only time it becomes louder is if it detects more pollutants in the air, which kicks the fan up higher. Even at it's highest setting it's not loud. I would say it's less quiet than a box fan. I LOVE how quiet it is. I have sensitive lungs and I suffer when the air isn't clean. The pollen in the air has been brutal, so I wanted an air purifier that could work in addition to the other ones in our home. We have a little town home and I use this one in our living room. I have placed it at the corner of the living room by the dining room and kitchen. I accidentally burnt a meal while cooking and the air purifier automatically kicked up to the highest level until the air was clean. That alone is impressive. Recently, all of our windows were open and the air purifier fan kicked up to it's medium level fan, then it's high level. My kids and I were wondering if the fan had malfunctioned, none of us had done anything to cause it to react. I went to the window and realized that it was hazy and smoky outside. We immediately shut all of the windows. The air purifier stayed on until the air in our house was clean again. Then it went back into low-level, silent mode. I absolutely LOVE the auto-detect feature. It's small enough to be out of the way, but big enough to do it's job. I love the beautiful design. It's about the height of a box fan. I love that it's round and tall. We have the original prefilter that it came with but I'd like to purchase more. I'm excited to try out another color, but I also really love the grey. The only downside is the prefilter. As much as I love it, our cat loves it more. She loves to launch herself full speed across the room and do a running leap at the air filer, grab at it with her claws and fling herself around it like it's a toy just for her. She ferociously rips and pulls at it like it's a beautiful scratching post. We've tried putting new scratching pads and all around it to deter her, but she loves the blueair more. I have removed the prefilter in hopes of detering her, so that she'll leave it alone. She has lost all interest in it with the prefilter removed. I'm bummed because I love the look of it WITH the filter on. It is so hard to take the filter off and put it back on. I kind of wish it was able to simply velcro on instead of having to slide it on. It reminds me of trying on prepregnancy pants after I had my kids. So difficult to shimmy into! Despite this one problem, I love this air purifier and will definitely be purchasing another in the future for our downstairs bedroom!

Stopped turning on after 10 months
I’m coming back and updating my review much later. I’m actually incredibly pleased with how they handled this purifier stopping. They sent out a new one and had me box of the one that quit in the same box. I contacted them directly, not through Amazon. They covered shipping and everything. It was painless and their customer service was incredibly helpful the entire process. The new one has worked wonderfully and we love it. I purchased a different 211 about 5 years ago and loved it. It’s been running daily for the entire time. So when we needed a second one for my kids room due to allergies I naturally decided to get a second one for the ease of switching out prefilters etc. This worked great until it just stopped turning on. I have kept it clean, vacuumed off the dust from the top regularly, changed prefilters regularly and it just stopped. I’ve reached out to customer service to see if I can get it replaced because for the price of this unit it should *for sure* last longer than 10 months. I’m just glad it decided to bite the dust before the warranty was up and not days after like most things these days. Will up date when company offers a solution. Meanwhile my kid isn’t sleeping because of such severe congestion. Hoping to get a solution fast.

Air Purifier is great, but you can't buy easily replaceable parts and Customer Service is horrendous
The air purification of this was amazing, and we loved it. However, one day it just decided to stop working. All the lights still turn on, and the filter sensor light flashes, indicating you need a new filter sensor (the filter sensor itself comes out very easily from the back, and you just clean it regularly). However, BlueAir refuses to sell anything other than a brand new unit or the filters / accessories. I tried reaching out to their customer service multiple times to see where I could purchase a new filter sensor, and always got the same answer - they don't sell them. And, conveniently, my 2-year warranty expired about 6 months ago, so all they kept saying was they don't do repairs. I reiterated that I did not want any warranty service or repairs, b/c it was working just fine before the need for a new filter sensor arose, and that I simply wanted to buy a replacement sensor. Again, same canned message - they don't sell them and don't do repairs. However, they would be more than happy to sell me a new unit with a 10% off code for the inconvenience. I was in LOVE with this air purifier, even at a cost of almost $400. However, now knowing that I had a perfectly working unit until it needed a new sensor, which they won't sell, and it can't work without, I now have a $400 piece of trash with a brand new filter inside.

Australian Shepherd House Approved!
This is an awesome air filter. It runs 24/7/365 in my house. I have 2 Australian Shepherds - need I say more? I have it on the lower setting during the day (mainly because it is quiet) but turn it up to high at night. It lives in my living room/kitchen. Because it has air intake on all 4 sides I will scoot it to the middle of the room at night to capture particles from all directions. Make sure to wash the outer filter cover once a week. I purchased extras so I could change it out without downtime. Buy the name brand extras - they fit best. It is always full of hair even with vacuuming every other day. The main filter is easy to change which I do at least every 6 months. They are not cheap but they work! This has lived up to my expectations. I have had it for 4 years.
