Loving this phone. Great Battery Life. Good performance
I absolutely adore my phone. The reason I went with the J7 is because I needed a phone that had a big screen, big battery, decent RAM, and a moderate resolution that wasnt power hungry. So my goal was to get a 5 to 5.7 inch phone and at minimum 2GB of RAM so multitasking would be doable. Getting a larger phone generally means you'll automatically get a large battery, and a 720p screen will use much less battery than a 1080p or Quad HD phone. This is because there are less pixels to power. With the AMOLED screen, known for good battery life, I charge every 2 days, and sometimes can get a 3rd day. Usually my screen-on time averages 7 hours, with an all time low of 5 hours, and an all time high of 10 hours. What I get really depends on usage. My 7 hour times are usually with 20% brightness since Im usually inside, and I do a lot of web surfing, communication apps, some GPS, and a few videos here and there. Id say I have moderate usage with some background apps. I do not use push mail, as I have a separate work phone...so I cannot say how this impacts battery. With regard to the software, Samsung's version of Android isn't bad at all....but I use Nova Launcher to get the look and feel I am used to. There is some bloatware thats not removable...but its not too big of an amount. These apps can be disabled...though I wish they could be uninstalled. You do get some useful apps, like a few Microsoft Office apps...and Opera Max, which helps decrease data usage through use of a VPN. Performance is snappy, I am able to multitask well, and I dont find myself desiring a beefier phone. Having had used phones with both weaker and better specs in the past...I feel Ive hit the sweet spot for myself personally. 720p may not look as sharp as 1080p or Quad HD, but Samsungs AMOLED display provides great color accuracy and contrast. And as stated before...I get awesome battery life because of the lower resolution. And while 2GB RAM may not allow you to have a seemingly infinite amount of apps open at once like some 4GB phones allow...unless you are trying to have multiple games and productivity apps open at once...2GB will be just fine Call quality is very good...Ive had no issues hearing people on the phone, nor have they have a problem hearing me. The GPS on the phone works very well...which is a relief because a couple of my previous phones sometimes took a while to obtain an GPS signal when navigating. Or worse, they would lose GPS signal and become an annoyance while traveling. Another quick thing...the dual sim feature works great....but keep in mind that only one SIM can use LTE at a time. The other SIM will be in 2G mode. This phone is a good buy, especially if you can get it at a good price. My only complaint is that accessories can be hard to come by, but I found a good case on Amazon. PS - the GSMArena phone finder tool was invaluable to me when I was trying to search phones by the specs I needed. Thats how I found out about this Latin American version of the J7 2016 (be aware that the American version for this phone has lower specs). My phone has all the bands I need for AT&T LTE service in the United States too. I made sure I did the right research and hopefully this review will be helpful to those who read it.

Best phone I've ever owned
first I'm not a Samsung fan, but this phone gives me hope. I've had it for just under a week now. I had one issue of dropping calls, I thought once again Samsung was going to disappoint Me, but a stop at the ATT store and the tech nice tech looked at sometsomething said it was picking up two carriers set it to ATT'S problem solved! For free. Screen is great best I've ever had. Texting is easy ( ok the tech set something and my letters are black with yellow looks like they are lit up) easy to see without glasses on. FOR ME. Doesn't have those pop up ads. I'm in a very rural area good reception. I don't game or use social media so 16 g memory ok but 32 would be better for most. Did I mention I like screen display. Good battery life! You can change it! Comes with good head phone set at least I think they're good. Customer service was good no complaints when discussing the phone issue. They were in my appinion slow to ship phone. Now the bad Speaker is in back a little weak not real bad. Be careful ordering a case some don't fit right. ( took me 2 to get a good one.)this isn't phone fault but thought I'd give heads up. I really like this phone. Yes a young lady tech helped me set it up but the features are there and it's great. I hope it lasts, because I've not had a lot of luck with Samsung in the past but this phone gets a thumbs up from me right now!

Worked fine both in Cuba and in NYC...but (update 9/21/17).... (updated again 10/29/17)
This phone worked perfectly in NYC with a $1 SIM card from Tracfone, then I added the $15 card also from Tracfone and we used it for one week. My family took the phone back to Cuba and just advised me that it worked without any problem back home. I was quite concerned because some of the reviews indicated that the one that worked in Latin America was the J700 not the J710. I did use it here for one week just in case it had to be activated. I had actually purchased two of these phones to bring back and changed the SIM card from one phone to another while they were here in the USA. The camera takes beautiful pictures and while I am from Cuba originally after so many years it was hard to follow the Spanish language on the phone, it could have been changed to English but it made no sense to change it for a week. It is a great phone and the sound is better than my Grand Prime but still with room for improvement. Update 9/21/17. I started having problems with an error message indicating that the "process. android phone had stopped working". I cannot even access Samsung support since there is no warranty. I tried the various recommendations on line but no luck. I am afraid that that I may have wasted my money. It is too bad because I was so happy with the phone up until a couple of days ago. Lesson learned: Never buy a phone without a warranty! Another update 10/29/17. Ready to send it back I went through the motion on Amazon and was offered the opportunity to chat with a technician. He was very helpful and offered to change the phone but recommended to do the factory reset first. I was concerned, but decided to give it a try and it worked!. I did this I think on 9/24. On 10/12, I decided to add back one of MetroPCS apps, the Visual Voice Mail and within seconds I got the error again!!! I was able to remove the app which was hard because the error barely gives you a chance to press anything since it comes back immediately. After I removed the app on 10/12, the phone has been working perfectly. I have my fingers crossed that this application was causing the problem since the very beginning. I am happy with the phone but still won't buy anything again without a warranty. Amazon's support was excellent.

Very nice, I was looking for not that high resolution ...
Very nice, I was looking for not that high resolution with latest OS phone. This is the phone what I was looking for. Octacore is over spec to me, but within the price range and better performance is good. The phone is looking good, cheap, sturdy and long lasting. I didn't charge for 3 days but battery was around 50%. Latest apps are all worked greatly in the phone. Absolutely recommend.
