Will this comb break easily?

They will not break easily. They are stiffer material than regulay nylon combs. If you carry in your pocket then use the short ones. I like these because the teeth are sturdy. And there are way more than 6 combs. I think they sent 3 of each size. Big bag of different combs. Set for life! A total bargain.

Are they heat resistant?

Yes I’ve used mine to push hair off a curling iron and no melting at all!

Where are these combs made?

Not in the US. They are made well. And you get a pretty large bag of combs. I think 3 or 4 of each.

why are they both carbon fiber AND plastic? Or which are they really? It matters.

Definitely plastic. I didn't expect carbon fiber and have no idea why that material would be special or good for hair Combs, so why have misleading advertising. Good Combs though, recommended minus the dubious description. Your welcome
