Astromania Barlow Lens 2", 2.5X Barlow Lens for 1.25/2" Telescope Eyepiece

What a great barlow, perfect for prime focus astrophotography. It worked out-of-the-box with my 12" dob and resolved my inward focus issue completely. I was able to capture stunning frames of Jupiter and Saturn right from my light-polluted backyard with minimal setup and NO TRACKING. Just what I needed! :)

Themis Barlow eyepiece is very nicely constructed. However, the interior lens diameter is 1.25”, not 2”, which obviously lets-in less light through the lens. Decent value for the money, but not very practical for good nighttime viewing in low light conditions.

The product enabled me to use a 2" eyepiece on a 1.25" telescope. My telescope is 1.25" and I needed this adapter to enable me to accommodate a 2" 2.5X Astromania Barlow lens on my 1.25" telescope. When the items arrived I tried it on the telescope and I couldn't get the Barlow lens to focus no matter what I did. I tried it on terrestrial which usually works quite well but it still didn't focus so I figured the setup I had was incompatible with a 1.25" telescope and sent it back asking for a refund. Now the product itself was fine. I'm sure it works great with a 2" telescope. The construction of the lens/adapter was great. It felt like it was made of metal; however, it was rather heavy as if it was made for a much bigger more expensive telescope. My telescope was neither. Like I said it was my mistake ordering something that I felt might not work with what I had. Would I recommend it to others? Yes. I'm sure it would work great on a larger, better-designed 2" telescope. Also, customer service was great and they issued a prompt refund once they go a notification from Khols (one of their drop-off points) that the items were turned over to them for shipping. good at low magnifications. I have an f/5 8" newtonian. This gives good views when I have eyepieces of 16mm or higher. Serious design flaw: only one locking knob Having only one lock knob is a serious design flaw - makes it unusable with a DSLR weight.

You can compare the two images with and without the 2.5x Barlow lens using the exact same setting on my camera and telescope. The image brightness without the barlow lens was nearly 3 times and you can clearly see that the edges are blurry and distorted.

Not what he wanted doesn't go in very close to moon

A really nice 2" barlow for a good price! Works very well no lens defects am pleased!

Would have liked lens to be of better quality. Useful for moon viewing only
