Great For Ginger Beer
I have been refining a root beer recipe off and on for years, and was never completely satisfied with any yeast, including this one. However, I recently started having a go at ginger beer, and I find this to be spot-on perfect, for that. It only took a few batches to balance sugar and temperatures/durations to get a great mild yeasty balance to the sugars I use. It seems pretty forgiving with regard to attaining that balance - or at least the way I like it. I don't know anything about beer, but for soft drinks like ginger beer, root beer, etc., this is definitely a good, safe choice to try first. You might want something lighter or darker, but you won't be put off one way or the other by this yeast.

Dependable Yeast, Better Price than S5
From the man of the family: I brew a lot of beer, mostly English-style red and amber ales. I look for a better price on bulk yeast and I trust the Safale brand. I've never had a batch fail -- not yet, knock on wood. My go-to yeast is usually Safale 5, but recently, for whatever reason, the price has gone up. I've often used #4 as well, and for my purposes, it does exactly the same good job. I'm ordering this product now because of the price difference. Recommended!

Great Yeast for a Great Price!
I have been purchasing yeast from Amazon for a couple of years now. I typically buy 3 packs and have brewed mostly with Safale US-05 as I typically brew American IPA's. I decided to try a little different flavor profile and went with the Safale S-04 and I'm not disappointed! This yeast ferments very quickly, within 3-5 days as opposed to 7-10 for US-05 and sedimentation is excellent. Beer is clear after a week in the fermenter or so, no secondary needed. It doesn't ferment as low as US-05 so if you're looking for a higher ABV, make sure you bump the grain bill up. Otherwise, I actually prefer the flavor of the S-04 to the US-05 in certain IPA recipes. Will definitely purchase again!

Works great
Bought this to re-pitch because some yeast that came in an extract kit got stuck. Did what it was supposed to. Hooray, beer!

SO4 yeast good stuff
SO4 yeast is sun up dependable. Ferments fast and drops like a rock. I typically use it to ferment american ale. Good flavor profile and fast fermentations.

It's a Great Cider Yeast.
Good price, works very fast... and next to Nottingham this is the best cider yeast I've used, and I still like S-04 better. S-04 leaves a nice subtle apple flavor that some of the cheaper, more popular champagne yeasts absolutely strip away. It lays a nice yeast bed - but its easy to stir up, so be very careful with siphoning if transferring to a secondary... I ferment under a 70F temp, anywhere from 64-68F. Even in lower temps its a fast ferment.
