Review: Customer service was the best? - This has been the best kettle ever and we use it multiple times a day. The look is great and the solid metal design is worth every dollar. This review is actually to say thank you to Ascot customer service as the kettle after almost two years stopped working as something wit the switch was bad. I emailed support and a few days later they express shipped a new one to me. Excellent! Thank you Ascot.
Review: Finally, a Winner - I wrote a review early on but never submitted it. Now that the thing won't operate, the words below aren't worth a thing... Basically the connection is probably gunked up with minerals . Worked well for 15 months. I love this kettle. It's the third one since my old one died a slow death, and 3rd time is the charm. On/Off. Simple. Retro looking in red. Heats well. Pours great. I had tried a white European one that looked great on the counter, but I wasn't happy with how it sputtered and poured too much too quickly, so I sent it back. It wasn't a bargain, either. Then I got a beautiful glass model with all the bells and whistles of different temperatures and keep warm settings, but after a few weeks, it died quickly when something fell out of the cabinet above and broke the thing. This one is well priced and heats up about the same as the others. Just beware of the separate lid, the metal handle of which gets burning hot - In most cases, it's not necessary to touch it anyway unless you are filling up the carafe with cold water. For safety reasons, I guess, a replacement plastic handle is included, but the original is on so tightly that I just left it alone. Very happy with this purchase. I hope it has a long healthy life. UPDATE of course is that its on/off lever died after 15 monthsif daily use.

**Q: Do you have to fill it to the max line, or can you boil a smaller amount of water?**
A: You can boil less with no issues. Slightly more was also acceptable.

**Q: Does this ever get that metal taste?**
A: We’ve haven’t noticed a metal taste. We use ours everyday for coffee.

**Q: Why do I have to unplug it?**
A: You would only need to unplug it to move to a different location. The pot comes off the base when pouring.

**Q: Does water touch any plastic/rubber part when heating or pouring?**
A: No.

### ⭐ Stopped working within a year

The kettle is very pretty and love the plastic-free design, but it doesn't last. The first one I bought is the all stainless steel finish one, it lasted about 18 months. Then I bought this cream color one as a replacement, but it failed after 8 months of use. I contacted customer service and got a replacement. And guess what, the replacement stopped working after 5 months. I contacted customer service again, this time no reply. I tried contacting them through their website, the email on the warranty booklet and other 3 emails I can find on their website. Nothing. Contacted Amazon, and they couldn't do anything because it's over a year depite they as advertised the 2 years warrnty on their listing. What a waste of time and money. I love the design of the kettle, I think is Aesthetic pretty and very elegant. Too bad the electric work has no quality control and completely lack of customer service the second time around. I had other electric kettle before and it all lasted way longer than Ascot. I won't buy it again.
