The description on the bottom of the page refers to general information about our products.-  "A 500 mg capsule delivers 495 mg of bioactive trans-resveratrol" is just an example that refers to our 500 mg product.  A 250 mg capsule provides 248 mg of trans-resveratrol as stated on the product description (on top of the page), on the label image and on the bottle image.   Regardless, we'll change the above from 500 to 250.

How is the product stored prior to shipping and how much potency will it lose from the shipping?

When stored at room temperature (68°F-75°F) in a dark dry place, the shelf-life of pure trans-resveratrol is two years. The product will start deteriorating after two years.
We manufacture a new batch every 2-3 months. That means the minimum shelf life remaining is about 90% or above. 
Stability tests have shown that the product can sustain temperatures of above 100°F for periods of 10-12 days without deteriorating. 
Prior to shipping Mega Resveratrol is stored at 40°F-45°F.
The product does NOT lose potency during transit unless exposed to conditions that are beyond the conditions described above. 
Recommended storage: Unopened sealed bottles (or powder bags/jars) that are intended to be used over a longer time period (6-12+ months), may be stored in the refrigerator. 
Open bottles/jars should be stored at room temperature as described above.
