It was hard to believe that they'd actually block the sun, so I ran some tests!1. Put some UV-sensitive color changing beads inside them and confirmed that they don't change in full sunlight, even though the beads are very sensitive (they'll even respond to sunlight through a window)2. Exposed my upper arms to sun for 90 minutes with the sleeve wrapped around just one part, like an armband. You can see a total lack of redness there, and severe redness elsewhere (the cross-shaped unburned part was from an area I sunscreened as part of testing my sunscreen).
