This easel is incredibly sturdy and versatile. First, let's cover delivery. This easel has the best packaging I have ever witnessed from Amazon. They could use one of their drones and drop it off on your lawn from 200 feet and it would remain unscathed. So, it arrives in perfect condition. Assembly is a breeze using the step-by-step instructions. I experienced no hole misalignment - the trick is to apply gentile force in getting certain screw alignment. I had no problem with that. Once assembled, this is a very sturdy product with a perfect finish. It is stable and can handle huge canvasses. Adjusting for different size painting is a breeze. For me, the most important feature is its ability to securely hold the painting flat, parallel to the floor. I like to prepare backgrounds with acrylic paint directly squeezed from the tube. Also, I like to seal the paintings with a slightly black-smoked medium (like water based polyurethane). Overall, this ranks up there as one of my favorite things I've ever ordered from there Big-A.

If I could give ten stars, I would. This is one of the best-designed and -made items I have ever purchased. The packing was perfect. All parts were labelled in order of assembly. The assembly was illustrated with clear and accurate line drawings, depicting the assembly as cumulating (in other words, not disconnected details). The wood is, indeed, beech—a very strong, straight-grained hardwood. All hardware fittings are metal, except for the plastic hand-knobs. Every part was precisely machined, and all slots/rabbets/holes perfectly aligned. Amazing. So many products now are made for the owner/purchaser to complete the assembly. This is, of course, a profit-boost in terms of manufacturing and shipping. Fair enough; I get it (especially the shipping costs). But never before have I seen the constituent parts so well made and precisely fitted. Let me repeat: Amazing! BTW, there is a very well made video online detailing the step-by-step assembly. You don't really need it, but it's there. Last point: great easel. The ability to position your work horizontally is a major benefit for, say, cutting frisket, applying paint that needs to flow out, etc. Everything about this item is absolutely first-rate. Last time: Amazing!

My new Meeden Deluxe H Frame Easel arrived on time as scheduled. I’d been looking for a new versatile, sturdy studio easel I could afford for a few years, to no avail. Recently I found this one ( I believe it just cane out) and though there were no reviews yet I decided I’d waited long enough and would give it a try. The price was very doable. Opening the box, I found everything perfectly organized and laid out nicely. Each piece was either covered in bubble wrap, or pocketed in nice cloth sleeves for protection (pictured). The kit even included all the tools needed to put it together, even the screwdrivers, wow!! My only disappointment came when opening the instructions and it was written in Chinese or Japanese ( I don’t know). All I had to do was respond to the sellers prior email to make sure everything was intact, I asked for English version and within an hour they responded with a PDF in English- PERFECT! The easels instruction were spot on. The instruction drawings are precise and no attention to details were wrong nor left out. I, a 60 year old woman put this together by myself in less than an hour. Honestly, I am blown away by the whole experience, the affordable price and easel itself! I can do oils on it or angle it flat for my watercolors, or work on 2 paintings at a time or use the upper self to hold my iPad references for painting. This easel will hold a very large canvas up to 78” I believe, yet it’s footprint is not as big as I expected- this is a positive! It rolls on sturdy casters making it extremely easy to move around. I love the brass bracket pull that holds the bottom tray in place regardless what level you need. I got so tired of my old easels tray slipping off the bottom regardless how tight I made it, sending my canvas crashing to the floor! This can’t happen with this bracket system they’ve installed. Normally you’d only find this feature on far more expensive easels. Another plus is you can put your easel shelf low enough to sit to paint if needed. The easel is sturdy and I believe I am really going to love it. I am a professional artist and very picky about my easels working for me. I know what I need after a lifetime of painting and purchasing easels. This easel seems to fit the bill, and it’s beautiful as well as sturdy and versatile! I hope since mine is the first review, you will find it helpful in choosing this easel. I could not be happier! I believe this one is a winner!

This is an astonishing easel for the money. Upon opening the box I found all the individual pieces carefully wrapped in protective padded sheets and separated by foam. All the pieces and bags of hardware were clearly labelled and the instructions very easy to follow. The kit even includes the correct tools for the light assembly required. Everything lined up and fitted together perfectly. I really can’t get over how solid and high quality the easel feels and how premium the unboxing experience was. It’s a little disappointing to see it’s made in China but it really doesn’t feel like a cheap mass market product at all. In terms of function it’s very flexible and will accommodate most canvases in all the positions one might prefer to paint in. I would highly recommend this easel to anyone looking for a top quality piece at a very reasonable price.

Overall, I think this easel is a good value with a lot of flexibility and useful features. If it were possible, I would actually rate this 4.5 stars. The vertical and horizontal adjustments and overall appearance are outstanding. I have two main complaints about the easel, however. 1). The one knob used to hold the painting at the selected height is inadequate. It allows the painting to slip and the knob/screw has already stripped out. A trip to the hardware store got this resolved. But I have taken to using ‘C’ clamps to hold a small board tight under this assembly to prevent slipping. I may eventually add two more knobs like the first one, but on either side of it to provide the necessary force to hold the painting in position. 2) The next issue is a little more puzzling. And because I don’t know the actual names of the parts involved, I can’t describe in technical terms. But essentially, the problem is that there is excessive play in the tracks that allows the center adjustable section to move up and down within the outer frame. I have done quite a bit of woodworking but have yet to figure out what has been machined wrong.. Anyway, you can take the center assembly and rock it from side to side. There is probably 1/4 to 3/8 inch too much play. As a stop gap ( no pun intended) measure, I slide a dowel down into the track from above. All in all, I think the easel is a great value and excellent choice for someone that wants a good one but is not ready or able to spend far more money.

It’s sturdy and nice wood. Easy to assemble. Has helped me with larger paintings as well!!

Excellent painting easel. Can handle huge canvases yet it is pretty compact footprint.Easy assembly.Fit & finish of easels parts is excellent. Easy to adjust knobs. Easel can be positioned from horizontal to totally plumb vertical. Important if you want to use a projector to transfer your art to canvas. Arrived in perfect condition because its well packaged. It may be expensive but you get what you paid for!

The easel arrived in good condition and functioned well for a few weeks. Then the adjustable hardware threads stripped out. I contacted Meeden with pictures and videos , and the company sent me replacement parts a couple of weeks later. Now the hardware is stripped again! Don't spend your money on this.

Very nice. Some assembly required, but easier then the average IKEA furniture. One of the bolts (bag H with 3 bolts, one was different) was the wrong type. Not a problem to me because I re-enforced the easel anyway with extra bolts to hold a 65” TV + soundbar.
