is Jumping Surface Diameter Size: really 30 inches only, not 40 inches?

Correct! Boarder has springs and padding.

Is this trampoline 30 inches width or 40 inches? It says 30" but dimensions say 40".

Hi, our sincere apologies. Please check the specs below. Thank you. Trampoline Height (from Floor): 8.9'' -inches Jumping Surface Diameter Size: 30'' -inches Total Assembled Trampoline Size (L x W x H): 40'' x 40'' x 47.2'' -inches

Is this easy to fold and put away? I don't have space to have it open all the time

This trampoline is extremely difficult to fold and open. I've struggled with it on at least 5 occasions to replace the springs when they break. (I had to purchase separately replacement springs) I just leave it open against a wall. I regret this purchase. Next time I will buy a trampoline with straps instead of springs and one that is much easier to fold.

Can it be used without the handlebar?

I believe that it could actually. The bar really isn’t strong or sturdy enough to put any weight on, or yank around. I think it’s just to kind of keep you centered and feel like you have your bearings maybe a bit more.
