Mettler9155-2000 Metrosene 100% Core Spun Polyester Thread, 1, 097 yd, White

This is a great thread and priced right. This is a 50 weight thread which means it is a little thinner than a regular all purpose thread. While the staple is not listed on it, generally a 50 weight has a number 3 staple which means that it is made of longer filaments than the all purpose threads. But the staple isn't listed on the bobbin so I can't tell. Regardless it is a core spun thread. Corespun threads, sometimes are made by wrapping a staple polyester or cotton wrapper around a continuous filament bundle of polyester fibers during spinning, and then plying these yarns into a sewing thread. The continuous filament polyester core makes up approximately 60% of the thread construction. This core makes for a stronger finer thread, less stretch in the thread, fewer thread breaks less puckering of seams, fewer unraveling type thread breaks, and longer thread wear. This thread has a poly wrapper, not cotton, which gives it better color fastness (though this product is white) better resistance to cleaning products. Corespun threads are normally more expensive than spun polyester threads, but this spool contains 1,097 yards with free shipping so the price is even less than many other buys.I plan on using this thread to make peasant blouses. As my fabrics are thin I wanted a thinner thread and a sharper needle. As these blouses will be costumes, they will not be worn frequently. But if you are making a garment that made of a delicate fabric, then generally you do not want a "tough" thread because is there is stress on the garment, the fabric will shred before the thread breaks. For my purposes this is a good buy.

I only gave it a five star because I love this thread the price is great. I wish they would package it in tissue or a Ziploc (hint hint)it's a shame it comes to you so dirty. It was put in with other items and came out of its protected cover.😳🙁Last time ordering this thread!!! They can’t seam to get the message. They do not put the thread in a protective package and it comes dirty and unwound. Such a shame. It’s so convenient to order and such a great thread. 😩😡

As with most, Covid-19 has forced me to do a lot more home projects. My supply of Mettler thread was looking a big worrysome so I bought this large spool. Thread is thin but strong. I don't know if I would use this thread on heavy cotton (e.g. Denim) but for thinner fabrics, this works just fine. You do get a lot of thread for the money. I don't think I will buy another spool of (thin) white thread for the rest of my life.

Mettler 9155-2000 Metrosene 100% Core Spun Polyester Thread is one of the best products for your sewing machine. There is less lint, and it feeds properly, thus eliminating skipped stitches, and helping to save machine repairs later on. It is always wise to begin each project with a new machine needle and a good spool of thread.

I got what I ordered however the quality isn’t what it used to be. I won’t be ordering this brand again.

This product is an excellent one that doesn't knot up or unthread when used on a machine. Smooth flow and makes the end product appear like a quality one.

I finally decided to up my thread game and go with Mettler which has a reputation for high quality. This thread was clean and ready to go as soon as I got it. Great price for a high volume of thread.
