LOVE this vacuum!
I have owed this vacuum for 3 years now. I prefer a vacuum with a bag rather than a cannister that has to be emptied. The bag for this vacuum is great because it does not release a lot of dust and replaces easily. The bags are not very expensive. I go through about 3 bags a year of every other day use. The vacuum has great suction to clean both bare and carpeted floors. You can turn off the beater brush, if needed. (I have a couple of area rugs with fringe.) The cannister separates from the floor tool that makes it easy to use on stairs or lifting less weight for high up cleaning. There are two different ways (length of tool) to separate the the suction hose depending on the job you are doing. This is the most versatile and efficient vacuum if have found and I have owed several over the years. I will have this vacuum serviced and repaired until it can no longer be repaired.

I'm in LOVE With My "Helping Hand'"!
I love this vacuum! There was only a few easy steps for assembly (I get confused following paper instructions, so I pulled up one of the step by step videos, & it was easy peasy!). It maneuvers around like a breeze & makes cleaning a joy!. It has great, adjustable suction , & I love that all the dirt is collected in a top quality heppa filter bag that is so tidy, with "no touch" release- unlike the mess of emptying & cleaning the unbagged mess of a canister- it's a breath of fresh air! I'm SO glad to have this fairly light vacuum & tools that. came with it-- plus, it's a beautiful green color to top! I highly recommend this to all who have allergies.,especially! The price point is great, esp. with the Amazon "no interest" 6 mo. payment plan I selected! It made it so affordable to work into my budget! Oh, it came with a bag in it plus several extra bags- the bags hold alot & there's an indicator light which shows the bag fullnes & when it's ready to change. It exceeded my expectations, I'm very happy with this purchase, "Zippity do-da", I'm all set to go now!

Great lightweight vacuum
My canister vacuum lost suction so I decided to purchase an inexpensive bagged vacuum cleaner after reading several vacuum cleaner forums. After reading many reviews I chose this one, the Kenmore intuition, because it’s priced right, lightweight and offers versatile cleaning for multiple surfaces and was rated well for pet hair removal. I received the vacuum today and the setup was extremely easy. I was very impressed with the power and suction of this vacuum. It is an incredibly long cord which is fantastic. I can cover a large area without frequently stopping to change outlets. So far there are a couple things I don't love about it which caused me to rate it 4 stars instead of 5. 1.) the attachments can’t be stored with the vacuum. There are spaces for them but they fall off easily. 2.) I filled one bag my first day using this vacuum. This has me a little concerned because I run a robot vacuum daily and also vacuum with my canister vacuum weekly. This could be due to the fact that my last vacuum lost suction and wasn’t working as great as I thought it was. However, between the two I don’t think I should have filled a bag with each use. If this was a rare situation I’ll update my review accordingly. 3.) While I haven’t had issues with any pieces breaking, I worry about durability after using it, some parts feel flimsy. I ended up purchasing an extended warrantee after using it as a precautionary measure. I don’t typically do this, but I felt like I needed to with this vacuum.

Perfect Vacuum Cleaner For Me
My first vacuum was a commercial bagged vacuum cleaner. It was the type that has a canvas bag for keeping the dust bag inside. It was powerful but it leaked some dust inside the canvas bag during vacuuming and I could smell the dust a little bit because it did not have a HEPA filter. When that commercial bagged vacuum cleaner broke, I bought a bagged vacuum of another brand that comes with a HEPA filter in a store but when I found out how small the dust bag was, I returned it because it would require changing of the dust bag more often and those small bags were not cheap, either. Since I was not able to find a bagged vacuum cleaner with acceptable capacity in any brick and mortar store, I decided to give the bagless vacuum cleaner a try. Using the bagless vacuum cleaner turned out to be a pain to me because I had to dump the dust just after using one or two times. The flying dust while emptying the dust container gave me allergic reactions. Worse still, the holes leading to the filter often clogged up so I had to clean them up from time to time with water. After about two years, the on/off switch of the vacuum malfunctioned, I decided to switch back to bagged vacuum cleaner. After an intensive search on AMAZON for a bagged vacuum cleaner that meets my requirements of 1/ It must have a dust bag with a large capacity. 2/ The replacement bags are of reasonable price. 3/ It must have a HEPTA filter to prevent fine dust from leaking out. 4/ It must be a brand that I trust. 5/ It must have high ratings on product review, I found the Kenmore Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum Lift-Up Carpet Cleaner. It is the perfect choice for me and I'm so happy that I found the vacuum cleaner of my dream. Some good points that I like about this vacuum cleaner: * It has very powerful suction. * It is a bagged vacuum cleaner with easy no mess changing of the bag. * The dust bag has a very large capacity. That means I don't have to change the bag too often. In fact it exceeds my expectation because the bag fill level indicator is still in the empty green zone after I had carried out four major vacuuming of the house with carpets in two bed rooms. * Unlike my previous commercial bagged vacuum which smelled a little at the start of vacuuming because it did not have a HEPA filter, the Kenmore Intuition with a HEPA filter does not smell at all. * The brushroll can be maneuvered to point left or right while the handle and the dust bag container are facing forwards. This makes vacuuming the floor under the table and chairs much easier. * The brushroll stops automatically when the handle is in upright position for using the wand for cleaning. It prevents damage to the carpet by the spinning brushroll. * It comes with 5 high quality dust bags in addition to the one inside the vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend the Kenmore Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner to anybody.

A Near Perfect Vacuum - Love that dirt bag
I just got this vacuum today and I am impressed. This vacuum checks so many boxes for me. 1 - It's lightweight and has a bag! I hate, HATE, hate bag-less vacuums, and this is one of only a few lightweights that has a disposable dirt bag. 2 - Really good strong suction. 3 - Able to turn off the rotating floor brush independently of the rest of the machine. This means that the roller does not need to spin while using attachments. 4 - Nice long cord. I can plug it in once and reach every corner if I plug into a centrally located receptacle. 5 - The floor head had no problems picking up small stuff. The rotating brushes did the job. 6 - No problems with round stuff. The head rolled right over an old ibuprofen tablet and picked it up on the first pass. 7 - It picked up a penny and sucked it into the bag. It did not jam in the brush, and did not make any clanking sounds. It got sucked up easilly with no possibility of machine damage. 8 - It grabbed a slipper, unintentionally this time. It jammed the brush, and the brush motor stopped instantly because of it, and would not start up again until the obstruction was cleared and powered off. Nice! 9 - Light enough that I can use the upright machine on my stairs. 10 - Easy to roll around and swivel on both hardwood floors and carpets. 11 - I like the "no-lift-away" Who needs that? On this one, just turn off the floor brush and lock it in the upright position. You can carry it around like a lift away, and the floor head doubles as a sturdy base. Nice! 12 - Easy to switch from floor mode to hose/attachment mode. 13 - Positively No dust. Everything that gets sucked in stays in the bag. I see no flying dust particles in the sunlight. 14 - Good suction when using the wand and tools. It got everything near my baseboards. 15 - The floor head does NOT have a height adjustment. I consider this to be a good thing. I have found that most vacuums that have a height adjustment just don't last. The adjustment always seem to be prone to breaking. So, it is near perfect and has some minor flaws that I think I can live with. Here they are. 1 - The spinning handheld brush head did not work well for me. Tried to use it to vacuum carpeted stairs, but the brush stops moving when it comes in contact with the carpet, and the suction is not a strong. Maybe it takes a more delicate touch, but I'd rather just pick up and use the floor head on the stairs 2 - I was hoping that it would be flat enough to get under the beds, but the clearance is not there. The tank is very bulbous and requires at least 10 inches off the floor when lying flat. I have only one bed that it can go under. This really is my only big complaint and the one thing that I wish it did better. Why did they make this so narrow side to side, and so wide front to back? If they only designed the tank to be wide side to side, it would fit under so many more places. 4 - The wand is short and did not come with an extension. Don't plan to stand up straight to use it. It can be a bit hard on the back - I had to bend over to use the crevice tool to get where the carpet meets the baseboards, and I'm already less than an average height. I think you need to be super short (like under 5ft) to use it without bending over. And if your ceilings are more than 8ft, the wand will not be long enough to reach those either. 5 - The attachments fall off while the vacuum is in use. Ho-hum. Not any different than any other vacuum. Seems these are good only for keeping the tools with the vacuum while it is in the closet. If I need to, it is better to put the crevice tool in my back pocket.

Unbelievably awkward and poorly designed. But, a lovely green metallic finish.
I have put off writing this review for so long, not wanting to be reminded of this appliance when I am not forced to use it. But I feel a responsibility to share the grief. First, the good things. The green metallic color is nice and shiny. The bags are capacious. And, . . . uh. . . I’m done with good things. General evaluation? We bought it based on a video review that measured ability to pick up sand in carpet. You, know, suction. (We did not think to remember that, uh, we have hardwood floors. And seldom track sand into the house. But the green metallic color. . .!) And, as Wayne (of “Wayne’s World” fame) says regarding another electrical appliance, “It certainly does suck!” Yes, this vacuum has suction. AND, it certainly does suck. How? Let me count the ways! The brush attachments will not stay attached to the back of the base. Why? Because to release the base into a usable position, you have to use your foot to hold down the front of the vacuum while you are (presumably) standing or walking BEHIND IT. So, you reach around from BEHIND IT with your foot which has a leg attached, and voila, you brush against one of the brush attachments and it becomes. . . guess, go ahead . . . UNATTACHED! Which means you have to bend over and try to reattach it to the back of the base of the unit. What else? The suction tube is long enough to do some chores if you detach the top of the wand from the unit. Like, vacuum your face. Always a good thing to do, right? Why do you ask? Because the expandable hose is so very stiff that if you reach up with the wand to do something the hose is so inflexible that it topples the unit. Likely onto your foot. Oh, and for those little jobs that detaching the wand head would be ever so perfect, guess what? You have to release the entire electrical cord from the wand. Which means after you knock out the little job, you have to rewind the cord, all of it, back onto the unit so it can go back into storage. What else? If you try and roll over a threshold (yes, some older houses have thresholds in the doorways inside the house), the unit will release and the front will think you used your foot to release it and release itself with a lovely loud noise. The unit going over a threshold thinks the threshold is somehow related to you reaching around from behind with your foot attached to your leg thereby dislodging one or both brush attachments. . . And the front of the unit slams down onto the threshold and you still can’t get over the threshold without putting the front of the unit back into the semi locked position that allows you to move between rooms when you are not actually vacuuming. Oh, yeah, the ever so easily detached accessory brushes also fall off of the wand. Very easily. They will not stay installed. On the wand. Which is where you use them. They just won’t stay attached. Suffice to say, don’t buy this vacuum. Pass on it. Get a Miele or some other well rated brand. Spend some more money, and always remember: A cheap appliance is just that. A cheap appliance. Pass on the Hoover. Because “It certainly does suck!” Nice color, though. . .

Best upright vac I've ever used.
For years, our household has been using cheaper bagless vacs that have had issues for as long as I can remember. And when last year, our last one broke, enough was enough and I finally decided to look into getting a decent bagged vacuum, as I heard that they were generally better options, especially so I no longer had to deal with emptying the dust canister after every use. I've only had this for a few months now, but I can easily say this is, by far, the best upright vac I've ever had the pleasure of using. It just feels so much more quality than any others that I've used before and I think it'll likely last a lot longer as well, and there's just a ton that I like about it. For one, I'm absolutely converted to bagged vacs now, I totally see why they're considered better. No longer having to deal with filters I need to clean frequently, all of it just dumping straight into the bag from the hose. I was also surprised just how much the bag could fill before needing to replace. I didn't have to dump the one that came in the vac until just last week, and that's after almost three months of regular use! The suction also seems a lot stronger compared the bagless vacs that I had been used to using, making cleaning so much faster and easier. Now we mainly have hard floors in our house, but we do have a couple rugs and it seems to work great on it, the brushroll doing a great job was cleaning them. It also felt just generally nice to use. This is the first vacuum that I had used that had swivel steering and it made such a difference for getting around things and making cleaning feel a lot more effortless. The lift-away canister is also super handy to use when in wand mode, making it really nice to dust and get into hard-to-reach areas, especially on the nice long wand that it has. The mini-brushroll attachment is also great for getting dog hair from our furniture. The cord length was also nice, not having to really worry about running out of cord and needing to plug it in somewhere closer, made taking care of a whole-house clean a lot less annoying. Honestly I'm just incredibly happy with this vac so far, especially for the price. The extra bags that it comes just feels like the cherry on top. Definitely an incredibly strong recommendation for anyone looking for a solid main vacuum.

Less intuitive than the name suggests, difficult to maintain
I’ll start with the positive. I like the bag. It’s much easier and less messy to swap out a bag than to clean a bagless vacuum cleaner. It’s reasonably quiet and has powerful suction. It’s easy to maneuver and seems to do an excellent job of vacuuming. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it, but the mechanism for swapping bags had me stumped until I found a YouTube video. I have used 3D CAD to design things, I read the manual carefully, and I messed with it for several minutes, but I seem to have a mental block where I could not figure it out. Apparently, I’m not the only one because someone made a YouTube video explaining how to do it. Frustratingly, you cannot close the bag cover unless a bag is installed, and installed perfectly. Even if the bag is installed well enough to vacuum, you still might not be able to close the cover. Finally, my biggest complaint. The brush roll became clogged with hair. Normally, I try to cut this off without taking anything apart, but this was pretty badly tangled, and I wasn’t having much luck. A lot of vacuums are designed so that you can release the roller, or unscrew a few screws and get access to it pretty quickly. This one also has screws, so I assumed it would be similar. 12 screws later, one broken clip, and 30 minutes of messing around, I finally figured out how to get the roller out. Needless to say, it took another half an hour to put it all back together again. I’ve rebuilt car engines, so I’m not afraid of mechanical work. This was not easy! Not as hard as rebuilding a car engine, but much harder than it should’ve been for a vacuum cleaner. It clearly was not meant to be disassembled.
