Need an underwatercamera? You found it!
I was looking for an underwater I.P. camera. The plan is to observe the fish underwater accross the river. The camera is offcourse underwater. Than the cable is connected to a point to point router, that is above the water. On my side of the river i have another point to point router that i connect with my NVR/laptop. That way i can see and record what kind of fish are swimming at this part of the river. De river is the river Lot in France. The water is very clear, so i think the images will be very good to. When i got the camera i was happy to see that this camera is pure quallity. I have seen and looked for many other underwater camera's, but NONE of them looked like this one. The material looks great and feel like they will last a life time. Included in the box there was an USB drive. On that drive were several manuals for installing and operating this I.P. camera. The manuals lead you through the install of the camera step by step. They even made pictures of the steps you have to make, and they put all the steps in the right order, so just start with step 1 and contineu to the last one. I need the manual for Windows and Android, but also the manual for Apple equipment is provided on the USB drive. Also there are many tips on the drive, and some links to download the latest drivers for the camera software. Als i was assured by the seller that if i had any qeustion about the camera or the software, they would gladly help me out. I allready was in contact with the seller, and the response was within 24 hours. Now THAT is what i call service. Due to too little time i only have tested the cam view above the water, and i am very happy with the quallity. Soon i will try the whole set up, and if i need help, than i know how to reach this seller. 😁 And do i recommend this I.P. camera and this seller???? Oh yeah! 2 x 100% 👍😎👍 Edit 21-03-2021. Yes, i have it all figured out, and it works great. With 2 Mikrotiks, a NVR and a monitor i can see what is in front of the camera that i placed over 100 meters distance!!! Fantastic!!!! Thank you again seller. Great product! :)

Would definitely recommend this to anyone requiring an underwater camera
Now have two of these cameras. Build quality is substantial and ideally suited to the underwater environment. More than enough video parameters to allow adaption to any users specific requirements. Video is from our garden wildlife pond. Very watchable result despite being recorded through murky water and at night.

Not quick and easy to set up, but good camera
According to the instructions there are 3 ways to connect it using the XMEye app. Wired, WiFi or NVR recorder I wanted to view the camera on my iPhone and ipad, l tried and tried to connect to WiFi without success so I contacted the helpline for advice ,they were at a loss and suggested it was faulty and to return it for a refund. I then tried the NVR which was connected to the internet and used the XMEye platform, plugged in and it recognised the camera, l had to input a password then it came up on screen. There was a barcode which I scanned with my iPhone and iPad and the camera was installed. I finally achieved what I wanted and can view the camera anywhere in the world. All I have to do is make a neat job of the cables

Ridiculously difficult to set up
Ridiculously difficult to connect to a PC, the instructions are appalling and not understandable in English and I'm computer literate! I just wish I hadn't bothered!

Impressive underwater camera with a few set up niggles swiftly sorted
After much searching and review reading I settled on this Barlus camera. The picture is crisp and clear and the reproduction of underwater colours is accurate. As others have mentioned, not just plug and play, at least with my NVR, but help from China was fast, sometimes on the same day, which given the 8hours difference was impressive. My problem was setting the parameters for Onvif or IP cameras as as it wanted to follow Hikvision protocol with its own port number. All this was explained and some of it remotely configured for me. The footage shown was recorded on the iPad from the TV so not up to original quality but still good enough for review purposes I think. Clear water obviously helps and much moving of the camera to get the best views but even with good water the infra red was not of much use at night. Somehow I did manage to switch of the infra red mode on one of many configuration utilities I was trying but was told this was not possible! However with pond lights already installed this gives a usable night time image which is far better than the infra red mode. Altogether a hefty, well made camera with good support from the manufacturers should you require it.

Awesome Underwater Camera
This is an awesome underwater camera which I would highly recommend. I bought it for my indoor turtle pond so that I can keep an eye on them. The unit comes with Barlus USB stick and its important to watch the video tutorial included in the stick, set up instructions and also software download. I tried to set it up initially but as I am not Pc savvy, I contacted Barlus customer service and within 12 hours as they promise, I had reply. I requested remote set up of the camera and the team went out of their way to set it up even after their office closed in China. Fran the company technician, set up the camera software on my laptop remotely and rest was a breeze. The underwater viewing is crystal clear and I have kept the factory default setting of the brightness, clarity etc. I used Ethernet cable to connect directly to my PC but it can be connected also to router if you want to watch on mobile phone using WiFi connection. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Barlus underwater camera to watch those 'magical' underwater viewing of your pets. The customer service is 10/10 and many thanks to Alex for after sales support and to Fran the technician

The camera itself is stainless steel and feels really robust. The instructions manuals are clear and I'm looking forward to setting this up. I intend to update my review after installation. Included in the package was: Camera and 10m lead Power cable USB drive User manual Warranty card

Barlus Cam for aquarium
I spent a long time researching underwater cameras before deciding on the Barlus Pond Camera, and I’m so glad I did. It’s sturdy, reliable, and does exactly what I hoped for: letting me reconnect with nature by watching the aquatic life in my 70-gallon aquarium, where the camera is mounted inside the tank about 3 feet from the glass. Three years ago, I fell on the ice and severely injured my back, causing nerve damage that made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor activities I used to love, like hiking, skiing, and canoeing. Losing that connection to nature was a hard adjustment, and it started to take a toll on my mental health. After a surgery helped with some of the pain but left new challenges, I began searching for ways to bring the peace of nature into my home—and that’s when I found this camera. The Barlus Pond Camera is designed for aquaculture, ponds, and pools, but it’s been a perfect fit for my aquarium setup. The camera uses fixed focus, so objects up close can appear blurry, but everything farther away looks crisp and detailed. For me, that works beautifully since it captures the wide, open space of my tank and the natural behaviors of my fish. I did struggle with the initial setup, especially getting the camera connected to my router, but when I contacted Barlus technical support, they were incredibly helpful. They guided me through the process step by step, and once it was connected, everything worked seamlessly. Now I can stream live footage to my phone, tablet, and laptop with no lag, and I’m even working on projecting it onto a larger screen in the future. What I love most is how much this camera has changed my daily life. On tough days, when anxiety or pain creeps in, taking just five minutes to watch my tank through the live feed is calming and grounding. It’s given me a way to reconnect with nature that I never thought possible. If you’re looking for a high-quality underwater camera that’s durable, designed for continuous submersion, and performs beautifully in larger setups, I’d highly recommend the Barlus Pond Camera. It’s brought so much joy back into my life, and I’m grateful to have found it.

2 out of 3 of my Barlus Cameras have FAILED
Great SS housing - but that's it.. internal camera and NIC are poor quality, now way to up date firmware and the software is terrible... I'm going remove the junk and install Hikvision cams in the housings

Very poor interface, difficult setup, poor overlay quality
I loved this this camera supported ONVIF and is waterproof and was very excited to purchase it with a Prime Day discount. Unfortunately, the interface feels like it was built 30 years ago and never updated. The software license was not even written in English. I know that many just click and go but you never know what they put in the license when you can't read it. They could say the software is loaded with malware and root kits and you accept that fact. Once I did get it setup, the overlay for the time, date, and camera name were so poor, they were not even readable. I ended up sending this back.

Outdated Firmware, Difficult Setup, great images.
I purchased this camera for use as an underwater pond camera connected to a Blue Iris surveillance system. The image quality is genuinely impressive. Colors are vibrant, fish and pond features are rendered beautifully, and the camera produces a very pleasing underwater image. Unfortunately, this is far from a plug-and-play device. For that reason alone, it will never be a four or five star product in my book. The biggest challenge was obtaining and maintaining a reliable, secure camera stream. The camera uses older XMEye-style firmware and networking architecture. Accessing configuration settings, locating useful documentation, and determining exactly how the camera communicates on the network proved far more difficult than with modern cameras from manufacturers such as Reolink or Amcrest. I've installed many cameras over the years and this was by far the most challenging. The firmware on my unit dates back to 2018. While the camera continues to function, the age of the firmware raises concerns about security, compatibility, and long-term support. Modern cameras typically offer better firmware management, more robust ONVIF support, and easier integration with NVR software. I eventually got the camera working, but it required significantly more technical effort than expected. Users looking for a simple install-and-go experience will likely find this camera frustrating. Those comfortable with networking, ONVIF, RTSP streams, and troubleshooting older camera platforms may have better success. Adding to the frustration, Barlus technical support never responded to my email inquiries. If you encounter difficulties, you should be prepared to solve them on your own. Overall, the image quality deserves high marks, but the outdated firmware, lack of support, and overly difficult setup prevent me from recommending this as a straightforward solution for most buyers.
