What is the lifespan of these lights? How many hours before they burn out?

Some say they eat batteries but I had mine lit every night from the 15th to 25th and only changed the batteries on Xmas Eve as I wanted them at their brightest

Come on Amazon, you can afford to invent and implement a standard system and affordable equipment for vendors to accurately measure reflective and transmissive color information of products. No, there is not a connection at the other end of the lights.

Do I need a outlet for this lights

Not necessarily. They are powered by USB, so you can either use a USB port (like an iPhone plug) to plug them into a wall, or you can use a portable battery pack like you would use to charge your phone when you’re away from home. I have two sets of these lights that I plug into Anker power banks and they work great.
