Beam color eh
I didnt care too much for this one. I didnt like the yellowish beam color and it didnt have great or good throw. Just descent throw. I know its been compared alot to tn35 but i dont think it compares. Tn 35s beam color is much prettier in my opinion. Tn 35 has the best beam color out of any flashlight ive tried. k40ms beam color reminds me of the old fashioned light bulb beam colors. Its like an enhanced 3000 lumen version of the old style beam color.

Incredibly well designed light with just the right amount of spot vs flood
I researched & researched and found that for my purposes this and the Thrunite TN35 are almost identical and equal in quality of design, parts and workmanship. I have them both. They have the right amount of flood vs spot (tons of both without the spot reflecting back and washing out your view). They don't overheat and don't drop out much on turbo. Both have incredible in-depth expert reviews available. They use 3 bats in series with 1 big-ass LED for the most efficient circuit possible. You do need to use fully protected hi-current, large capacity batteries though if you want to have it firing safely on all 8 cylinders. (ie; orbtronics 3400's or equiv). A joy to own. The acebeam does have a slightly shorter/smaller diameter head making this large flashlight a little smaller over-all.

A great 3000-lumen LED flashlight
The Acebeam K40M is a 3000-lumen, water-proof (up to 1 meter depth) and drop-proof (up to 1.2 meter drop) flashlight that run on 3 18650 batteries.Package included:1 x AceBeam K40M Cree MT-G2 Q0 3000lm LED Flashlight1 x Replacement O - ring and Tailcapgummi1 x user manual1 x holster1 x lanyard1 x warranty cardPros:* Excellent build quality with textured handle (knurling) for better gripping. The soldering of the parts are top notch.* Magnetic control ring to switch 8 modes quickly. With this type of control, switching between modes can be done very quickly with my thumb and index finger (one-handed operation). The slight disadvantage to this type of control is a very small power drain.* All parts appear to be very well made, which helps reinforce the handling of up to 1.2 meter drop. The last picture I've uploaded is the minor cosmetic damage from the drop on concrete.* Uses the Cree MT-G2 q0 emitter and Acebeam designed the flashlight with around 5A current that allows the K40M to produce an output of up to 3000 lumens.* Color temperature of 5000k, which puts it in the white category. The white has a bit of warmth to it, so it's not harsh on the eyes when shining at a white wall at the highest brightness mode.* Flashes during use when batteries get low.* Excellent throw. Bright light 200 ft away, but this the K40M is capable of illuminating an area @1500 ft away.* Large copper heat sink pad for superior thermal conductivity. After 10 minutes at its max, the K40M's handle was still cool enough to hold, but the control ring area got very hot.* Strobe mode and SOS mode. With strobe mode on, I get nautious staring indirectly at the beam.* The included holster and replacement o-rings. The recommended lubricant used by Acebean is ODAKE LG101C lubicating oil, but you can use Nyogel 760G, for example. Anything that's rubber friendly (e.g., silicone-based lubricants at an auto store).Cons* The Cree MT-G2 q0 emitter has a bit of a yellow tint to it. This is noticeable when shining the flash light at a white wall. This doesn't bother me enough to warrant any rating deduction.I cannot think of any other cons :-). I've been using this flashlight everyday since February 2015. When I take my dog out for a walk, I find myself shining it at everything: highest mode for far away areas and lowest mode for finding my dog's dirty deed.
