Great easy-to-install kit for fastening up to four license plates to our two cars. The special key/tool prevents a thief from using standard screw drivers or tools to remove a plate. Definitely worth the price if plate theft is unfortunately typical in your area. FWIW, we've never had any of our plates stolen when using regular Philips head screws, but they seem even more secure now.

While these screw heads reduce the risk of the plate being removed by thieves, the screw length is excessive. They provide both machine screws with nuts and self tapping screws. There aren’t a lot of fundamentally different license plate holders and the plates themselves are a set thickness. Even frames, if you want one around the plate are typically thin metal. The holders predominantly have nylon inserts to accommodate the self tapping screws. So I don’t understand why the screws they provide are so long. Too long. In fact they protrude so far out the other side of the plate holder they impinge on the actual car frame itself. Who would do that? I cannot fathom why the screws aren’t 1/2” shorter, and you can’t substitute them else the security you’re seeking is lost.

Easy to install and gives extra peace of mind. The hardware looks clean and feels sturdy.

Used bolts on Mercedes and had to use multiple washers because bolts were too long. Wish this came with shorter bolts. Otherwise decent security kit.
