When my buddies Start/run cap went out one his a/c during a 98 degree day..and saw his bill from an A/c repairman, I decided that a spare Capacitor is a good idea. When these go out the compressor will not come on and you'll be blowing out hot air, you may also hear a buzzing sound from the compressor motor because it is trying to start turning, but it needs that "push" that the start capacitor brings it. I looked in the fan unit outside to take a photo of my current capacitor and matched it up here spec to specification. I'm an Electrical Engineer so I won't have a problem safety wise or knowledge wise to swap this out if I ever need to. If you are Not experienced with electricity, don't try it, but at least you'll have the correct low priced part to give the technician . (nothing worse than them coming out and saying its the cap but we have to order it...
