These are the same grits that come with the tumbler kit. The scoop that comes with it is a nice addition. I've found that some grits get used faster than others, so it may be worthwhile to find a supplier that sells individual grits. Depending on where you find your rocks, you may find that some of the heavier grits are not needed as much as the finer grits. Most rocks I've polished came from riverbeds and are fairly smooth to start with. In my experience, you can start with the 3rd grit on these and still get the desired results in less time since you can skip the first grit or two which is about 2 weeks of tumbling. Another tip, get some dishes like cake pans or casserole dishes at the dollar store and pour the water/grit from the tumbler into them and let the water evaporate. I have one pan for each grit. You can then reuse the media several times before discarding it.

This is the best grit that I've used so far. It comes in four little great containers for each step with a little tiny scoop that's perfect for measuring out. I will be buying this over and over again.

This grit works really well on obsidian. It came nicely packaged, and was a good price.

It helps shaping stones too..it is a little sound and I'm living 2floor so I put a box on it to make the noise more silent
