Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump, Compact Swiss Design with PersonaFit Flex Shields and Medela's 2-Phase Expression Technology

Long story short, this is my opinion, and I don't normally bother to write one, after 4 weeks of frustrations, thought that I'm not capable of more milk for my baby, that nothing works for me (no pump, supplement, food, tea, method etc ) and of course misinformation from professionals and online info in first place. Basically my baby doesn't latch properly (and believe me I've tried EVERYTHING) and also falls asleep quickly while at my breast, so doesn't suck the milk properly, so my breast is not stimulated enough to produce the right amount of milk for my baby. AGONY because I want her to have the best and breast milk is the one. Of course I used formula to top up because of the above problem. From what I read online, many women have the same problem so that's why I'm writing my experience, maybe it will help. To save time, energy, even money, this is what works to produce more milk: - use this manual pump. Or any other, but this one I tried and works very well; that's why I said "even save money" because a manual pump is actually enough. If you find it's weak, that's only because the handle isn't assembled properly, I've done this mistake myself. After proper way, the suction is actually strong and you don't need more than that as it becomes painful. Prior to this pump I've spent money on very expensive electric pumps from the same brand and nothing helped me to get more than 80-100ml from both breasts, with lots of water and supplements included. I also rented the hospital grade from Medela, I sent it back after a few days. The pump is super convenient, very easy to use, to wash and does a very quick and efficient job, can use it anywhere, anytime as a long as you have some privacy! Honestly, I get more milk and faster with this pump than an electric one! No need for bra to keep it on the breast or charging, etc. - while using the pump, here comes actually the most IMPORTANT PART, the one that is vital to produce more milk but noone actually tells you about it! No midwife, no professionals or online articles. Everybody says pump, pump and pump as often as possible for like 15-20 min, BUT that's just not it!!! What you need to do is express the milk with your own hands, also called COMPRESSING the breast. This is the second best way, after baby sucking, to get the milk out of the breasts! No pump, no matter what kind, has the same efficiency as your hands to express the milk! And if you don't empty the breasts as much as possible, they won't produce much milk. So manual pumping with one hand + compressing the breast same time with the other hand, it will give you the best results! - in parallel with the above, hydration, healthy food, supplements, teas, etc will do the very best. The results are almost immediate because a breast that gets emptied as much as possible will try cope with the demand and produce more milk.

Great quality manual breast pump and aesthetically pleasing too. Easy to use and assemble with the useful and clearly diagrammed brochure and once you've done it the first time is simple to remember and do without the guide. It's very comfortable to use and as it's manual you can control the amount of suction by how you manually pump it. The pump is easy to take apart and clean, can be out into a steriliser or boiled on the stove. It has other size attachments for different nipple sizes that can be ordered, I didn't need to but it was useful to know. Breast milk bags can also be purchased but you can use any brand. It's a great size to store in a cupboard or drawer.

Extremely disappointed. This pump has been used for 1 month, only once a day because my milk supply is low (which makes me feel bad enough) and now it just isn't sucking anything out anymore. I'm not stuck without a pump and fearful my milk will dry up while I frantically try and research other pumps and pray my milk will stay by the time they arrive. 1 month is use.. 1 time a day! How is that allowed? Some people are blessed with plentiful supply and would need to use this pump several times a day. What's even worse is I bought the pump in April, baby was due in June so I'm way outside the refund period but I wish I could send this back I'm so upset. I already struggled with the product from a pain point of view, the actual suction cup hurts your nipple so bad and makes them swell up but I just pushed through it as I didn't want to waste more money, all of that just for the suction function to stop. Both myself and my partner have tried several times to dismantle/clean/dry/look for holes etc to work out what is wrong but nothing is making it work. Baby products are expensive enough without now having to look into £40 electric pumps because I no longer trust handheld.

This is great watch a few youtube videos to make sure your using it right and washing it right but its no mess about i have an electric one and it dont get as much milk as this am proper shocked !!! And great price aswel i ordered this cos my breasts have over swelled an my medla swing not coping with the breast change this one seem to get it out really good !! Ive only just started getting milk in ! This is great also it seems to get milk out faster then my electic one does and this manual one the flange is better too

Great manual pump, there’s a reason these are so popular. Really effective at removing milk quickly and small enough to take out and about. Works with any narrow neck bottle for collection. I actually prefer using this over my expensive electric pump most of the time. However, after a few months of use the tiny rubber o ring seal in the handle broke. Not wanting to throw away a perfectly good pump I bought some replacement rings from a third party seller. These aren’t sold separately by Medela or provided as a spare, despite this seemingly being a common issue. It’s also a shame that the provided 24mm flange is far too big for most people - to prevent injury and improve efficiency I had to purchase inserts.

This pump worked very well for the first three months and actually performed better than the much more expensive branded electric pump I had previously purchased. Unfortunately, it has now stopped working. The most frustrating part has been trying to arrange a replacement or warranty claim. As I am outside Amazon's 30-day return window, the standard return option is no longer available. The product should still be covered by its warranty, but Amazon does not make it easy to find information on how to claim under the manufacturer's or seller's warranty. I was very happy with the product while it worked, but the failure after only three months and the difficulty in obtaining support have been disappointing.

Fab breast pump, a must-have if you're planning to express milk. A little intimidating when it comes out the box, but you soon get your head around all the parts - I honestly thing I could build it in my sleep at this point! Really nice quality and no signs of wear and tear despite dozens of dishwashing and sterilising cycles. I store in the fridge between uses so only needs cleaning every 24 hours. Really efficient at getting milk out, far more so than my little wearable electric. Now that baby has started sleeping through the night, I can pretty regularly get 100-150ml in the morning, which is the perfect amount for a bottle for my little one. Warning that you will likely need flanges to make this work, which I didn't appreciate before ordering. Grab a multipack and try a couple of sizes, as personally I found that I was most comfortable with a size smaller than I technically measured for.

Honestly it was the best decision to buy this hand pump. I was using the momcozy elextric pump but it was taking too long to pump so decided to try madela handpump and i am glad i did cause it was faster and easier to pump. So any new mommy if your hesitating to buy this I would 100% recommend this pump.

After owning 3 electric pumps, two of which are cordless (other brands) and one is a corded one from Medela, I was disappointed about the output multiple times. Even though the breast milk sprayed out like a jet stream when I pressed, the pumps were not effective enough in extracting. I did get an okay amount of milk but I knew I could get much more. I love this pump. Compared to the electric pumps, I think this manual one is more effective in terms of output. The only downside is probably the number of parts it comes in, although that is not too much of a hassle once you get used to it. This manual one is definitely more effective than the others I own.

J'ai commandé ce tire lait manuelle simplement pour vider le trop plein de lait la nuit et éviter les engorgement/mastite) Super simple d'utilisation, très facile a laver et hyper efficace. Je tire environ 250mL en 1min de chaque côté. Très bon produit. Et très robuste ! Je recommande !
