How long are the little fishing poles?

They are a little over 12 inches long I would guess I gave this to my niece and she loves the fishing game

Can you put the fish in water?

It is a flat surface. The children in the 2's, 3's and 4's love it. Even some 5's. There is no water involved. The bucket is for storage.
