Great sound and easy to use
Love my boomerang...I started riding my bike...Needed some music...Headphones, cords, phone falling on the ground!!!!...No cords, connect via Bluetooth to my phone in a few seconds...Simple, easy to use controls on the side...Fast charging...The sound quality is excellent...No music blasting right in your ear...I like that I can hear music but also the areas around me when riding my bike...I also use it with my smart TV, makes music and movies, so much better...

Great sound! Nice and loud and gives a good experience.
I'm using this to connect to my tv in the evening when I want to listen to tv without using the regular speakers and need it to be a bit quieter so I can hear my elderly father who's in the living room area. My mom currently has a BOSE wearable sound bar that goes around the neck that is three times as expensive, so for this review I'll compare the two. The one thing that stood out is that this neck band connected to the tv easily and was way louder than the BOSE band. Read the directions as you have to hold the button for a certain amount of time and it prompts you and tells you the blue tooth is on. I think just went to the tv settings and had it search for speakers and just click to pair and we were good to go. My mom's speaker just wouldn't go up very loud [BOSE]. This one, the Monster, I discovered let me control the volume through the remote, and it definitely was louder. I got confused as I was wondering why the buttons on the side of the speaker weren't working when I discovered my smart tv remote would control the volume which is WAY easier anyway. My BOSE had the same function - but it would only play super low which was annoying. That was a serious pet peeve of mine with my mom's speaker which I bought her a year ago. The new Monster speaker was the opposite and was loud. I actually had to lower the volume a little. The BOSE version which is more expensive wouldn't go up high enough! The best part is the sound quality. It's amazingly clear on voices and the special affects are just like WOW! My mom asked me to order her one for her main bedroom and I suspect will find herself using this one more. I think this is a better band. The only item I found a little off putting is that it's not that soft on the neck. My mom said it was fine, but my skin is sensitive. Silicone sometimes bothers me so I'll probably just put a cloth on top of my neck and lay this on top. That's the one area I think Monster needs to work on. My mom likes it better because she prefers the thin part behind her neck when she's laying in her bed watching tv [she has one of those adjustable ones]. Other than that, it's worth the money. FYI - This is not a tinny sound. It's literally like surround sound. You hear the noises going back and forth and wow...I was just so impressed. If you're looking for a wearable band that is affordable, this won't disappoint. I'm honestly surprised as heck that they are selling it for this price. If they flooded the market, these guys would win. I'm so glad I decided to try this one. I'm currently connected to a Samsung Smart tv.

Best outdoor/active speakers for the price.
Got these on Friday the 20th and so far, no issues at all. The sound quality is perfect for what I need at home, but the main reason I bought them is for work. I work in a warehouse where the noise level can hit 80–90 dB depending on the area, and these speakers have been a great solution. I’ve dealt with hearing issues in the past and also tend to get a lot of earwax buildup from using earbuds all day. I heard about these from coworkers, and honestly, they’ve been perfect for my situation. For the price I paid ($59.99 + tax), they really feel like portable speakers from brands like Bose, JBL, or Wonderboom — except they rest comfortably around my neck. I’d say they’re closest in feel and quality to JBL, especially with their water-resistant design. Bluetooth setup was super easy — just paired once, and now it connects automatically every time I turn them on. As for comfort, the weight is no issue at all. I’m used to wearing shoulder pads and carrying weight around my neck, so these feel pretty natural. Overall, I definitely recommend picking these up, especially when they go on sale. From what I’ve seen, they tend to go on sale every other month and the discount usually lasts through the month. (Edit/Added note after about 2 months) As many others stated I’ve come across an issue that really doesn’t bother but may be bothersome to others which is the bluetooth speakers will disconnect randomly (more commonly if you paused/no sound coming out for more than 5 minutes. They’re not totally an issue for me as they immediately reconnect sorta like it’s letting you know it’s on or you left it on for what I think. There are other times where the sound will crackle as if I’m a distance to where it can’t reach but is literally 2 feet from my phone. Overall I still recommend this regardless of the issues mentioned above.

Nicely Does What It Needs to Do
Ok, it is inevitable to compare this to the Bose Soundwear (which is evidently discontinued), so I start there. Is it really fair to compare a product to another when one is about 3-4 times as expensive? The only fair way to do it is to compare "dollar for dollar," I believe. In that regards I think the Boomerang is really good, maybe even better than the Soundwear. Obviously if you put them next to each other and ask an audiophile to compare the sound, Bose wins. But this thing is on your neck and you likely are not wearing it to listen to symphonies, so how crisp and clear do you need the sound to be? The volume can get loud--leaving it on the counter and turning it up, you can easily hear it across the room. But again, this is on your neck. How loud do you intend to turn it? So, with that said, I really like the Monster Boomerangs. I wear them when I go hiking and don't want to have earbuds to completely block the noise, while I also don't want to disturb other hikers too much. Having these on my neck at a comfortable volume allows me to hear the surrounding while listening to music. Other hikers can probably hear my music when near me, but as soon as we pass each other, we are in our own worlds again. The battery life is quite good. I have used them for around 10 hours on different hikes and still have some juice left, according to my iPhone's battery meter. Pairing them with the iPhone for the first time was easy, and subsequently every time I turn them on, it quickly connects to the iPhone automatically. Not a problem at all. There are only four buttons, which to be honest I have not used other than the power on/off button, as I rely on my Apple Watch or iPhone for controlling the volume and call answer/hang up. I have received/made calls and the call quality was good on my side and I never heard any complaints about the call quality from the other side. Of course everyone can easily hear your conversations, so there is that. The only thing I wish was different (and in that case the Bose Soundwear does it right) is that these do not sit flushed on your neck/body as the Soundwear does. These rest on the back of your neck and there is a gap in front between them and your body. Nothing too disturbing, and perhaps it even helps with sweat not getting on them, but I alway know they are around my neck for that reason, even when off, whereas with the Soundwear, it is easy to forget they are there. This is not worth paying so much more for the Bose, so after trying them both, I opted for The Masters, and I am quite happy with the decision.

Could have been great only if,
I have to use earbuds a lot for both my full-time and part-time work. Sometimes I had to use earbuds right after a shower while my ears were not fully dry. Maybe because of that, I started to have some infections or ear ringing, possibly tinnitus. My doctor told me to reduce the use of earbuds or completely cut them off for a while, but I couldn’t because I needed them. So, I started to look for open-ear styles and came across these around-the-neck styles as well. After using this one for around two years, I’m sharing what I think about it for people who are searching for these types like I did. Pros: - I don’t have to worry about the ear canal thing anymore. This works perfectly as expected since I don’t have to put anything into my ear or have it sit on my ear. - The price is literally a fraction of the competition like Sony or Bose. This is a big factor for me. In my experience, the lifespan of Bluetooth earbuds is not that long because of battery degradation, and I don’t want to pay hundreds for these but rather pay something less than $100 and buy new ones every 3-4 years. - This sounds surprisingly good. The spatial 3-D sound works well due to its design. It’s like a combination of the good qualities of earbuds and headphones while still allowing you to be aware of your surroundings. Cons: - Battery life is really disappointing. The description says it can last 12 hours at 50% volume, but I barely get 7-8 hours at minimal volume. I use this in a very quiet environment and have to use it at the lowest volume possible. Even with that volume, I have to recharge it every day, and I hate that. - Because it’s not very energy efficient, it turns off after some idle time. Then, I have to turn it on and reconnect it. So annoying. - It doesn’t remember the last settings, so every time it’s turned on (with a super loud opening sound as someone mentioned here), you need to adjust the volume and settings again to your preference. - It’s much louder than usual open-ear style earbuds due to its design, so you don’t really want to use this in public settings as people around you can easily hear what you are listening to. Overall: - This will be the best if you use it for watching movies or listening to music while walking around home. (But, keep it playing whatever you do; otherwise, it will turn off with a loud ‘Goodbye!’) This type of earbuds may seem to cater to very niche users, but they actually have great potential if they could fix some issues stated above (especially battery life) for the next generation, especially with the recent popularity of open-ear style earbuds.

fantastic sound
The only thing I can add that I haven't seen in any review is: how long does it take to charge. I was watching a show and didn't see when the light went off, but it took between 30-50 minutes to charge. Pairing was easy peasy. The sound is amazing. I won't be using this outside of my home. I have a HICOPOWER neckband speaker I got to use with an HP laptop. The laptop had decent sound (couldn't call it good, but decent), however the speakers quit working. I really liked the 3d surround sound when I was using the neckband and decided to get one for my main laptop. Of course, it's not available anymore. I'd seen the Monster Boomerang neckbands when I was trying to decide which one to get, but couldn't justify paying that much for something I wouldn't be using that often. Lucky for me this time the Monster neckband was about the same price as the other one I bought, having a $30 coupon available. Yippee for me! And I'll be using it every day. The battery used in the photos is very close to the size of my Samsung phone (used for taking the pics so I couldn't place it there for size reference). I'm not afraid of loosing it, but I'm surprised at how much it moves around. Especially since I'm just sitting at my desk and the HICOPOWER doesn't seem to do that. It gets really out of kilter and the sound balance gets off. There are a couple of neck straps for it. If I was using it outside or had a job where I was moving around a lot, I'd get one. I have FX Sound manager/equalizer. Many great sound presets to help maximize my listening enjoyment. Still trying to figure out how I feel about the vibrating sensation. I expect I'll get used to it.

Great sound
Husband tried these rather than ear buds that keep breaking, and actually aren't good for your ears. These are light weight and provide quality sound. And I like that he can hear me if I start talking to him.

A total game-changer for chores, working from home, and walks!
I've always struggled with earbuds making my ears sore after a few hours, and carrying around a traditional portable Bluetooth speaker is just inconvenient. I decided to give the Monster Boomerang Neck Speaker a try, and it has completely transformed how I listen to music, podcasts, and take calls throughout the day. Here is why this wearable speaker is an absolute 5-star product: 1. Incredible Immersive Sound Because the speakers fire upward directly toward your ears, it creates an amazing personal sound bubble. The audio is incredibly crisp, clear, and has surprisingly punchy bass considering its size. You get a fantastic, immersive audio experience without broadcasting your music to the entire room. 2. All-Day Comfort (Truly Lightweight) I was initially worried it might feel heavy or awkward, but the lightweight design is flawless. The flexible material rests softly and comfortably on your shoulders. Within minutes, you completely forget you are even wearing it. It stays securely in place even when I'm bending over to load the dishwasher or doing yard work. 3. Situational Awareness (The Earbud Alternative) This is the best feature by far. Because my ears aren't plugged up, I can listen to my audio while still remaining fully aware of my surroundings. I can hear the doorbell, easily have conversations with my family, or listen for traffic and bikes while out on a walk. It provides the perfect balance of personal entertainment and safety. 4. Legit 12-Hour Battery Life The battery life on this thing is fantastic and easily lives up to the advertised 12 hours of playtime. I can use it on and off for days on a single charge. You don't have to worry about it dying in the middle of a long workday or a long hike. 5. Rock-Solid Bluetooth Connection Pairing it with my phone was instant, and the wireless range is excellent. I can leave my phone on the kitchen counter and walk all over the house without the audio dropping, stuttering, or disconnecting. Bottom Line: If you hate the feeling of earbuds but want high-quality audio that follows you wherever you go, the Monster Boomerang is a must-buy. It is comfortable, sounds incredible, and the battery lasts forever. It has quickly become my favorite piece of daily tech! Highly recommended. Pros: Immersive, clear audio with surprisingly good bass Extremely comfortable, flexible, and lightweight for all-day wear Keeps your ears open so you can hear your surroundings safely Excellent, long-lasting 12-hour battery life Stays securely on your shoulders while moving around Cons: Not ideal for very loud, noisy environments (since your ears are open), but absolutely perfect for the house, office, or quiet walks!
