Highly recommended. Not being familiar with model making, I was concerned that the age rating would just make this boat fairly simplistic and we'd put it together in an afternoon. Oh how I was wrong! I originally bought this in October 2021 for my dads birthday for us to spend some time together. First thoughts was "Wow" when I picked the box up to wrap up - this box is substantial! Whilst we haven't completed this model as yet, we very quickly realised the absolute genius of the design of these parts / high quality of the wood used. To put this into perspective, each of the parts will all come apart fairly easily if you've made a mistake, but will go back together as well as the first time. Needless to say this has happened more times than I care to remember, and none of the parts have failed us yet. Ugears have done a superb job with manufacturing all the parts, and we will definitely be purchasing another kit (once we get to the end of this one!). Would recommend this to anyone!

This is a great item to build it is challenging and exciting and easy to build. If you follow the instructions correctly and be extremely aware of part orientation and position it will go together with no problems.

As an ex engineer it’s not always easy to buy him the right present, but this was complicated enough to intrigue and engage him yet with very clear instructions he was able to control the shaking in his hands in order to relatively easily put it together and it now holds centre space of attention. So I’ve bought him another one. It’s certainly not for the novice and not for anybody who feels they can ignore the instructions but it’s beautifully detailed and complicated enough to engage the enthusiast

Good fun to do but you do need to have plenty of patience and do not rush it. Instruction book very comprehensive, only negative, pictures are not actual photographs and I found that you may have to study them to fully understand what is required.

Quality item. Took time to build as quite tricky. Looked good when finished.

Not thin and easily broken but well made and sturddy

Main wind up shaft broke without too much pressure. Far less than six turns. It was fixable. I am thoroughly enjoying the build experience.

As someone who loves intricate puzzles, the Ugears Research Vessel was a captivating challenge from start to finish. However, I found that patience was key, as some parts required delicate handling to avoid breakage. Once completed, the finished model was truly impressive, with its moving parts adding an extra level of fascination. Overall, the Ugears Research Vessel is a must-have for anyone who enjoys both puzzles and model building. I definitely recommend this product. With the level of difficulty, I recommend 15 years old and up.

Tra i 4 modellini dalla UGEARS che ho montato è quello più complicato, tanti parti e passaggi particolari su cui porre molta attenzione, soprattutto bisogna curare bene le parti meccaniche, va eseguita molta attenzione alla levigatura e pulizia delle parti oltra ad un buono strato di cera perchè tutto funzioni a dovere. Per cui come scritto nel titolo è bene sapere che serve pazienza cura e nessuna fretta nel montaggio, fare attenzione ai particolari, seguire scrupolosamente i passaggi indicati e tanta cura dei pezzi togliendo tutte le bave e rendendo lisci ed arrotondati i bordi di quegli elementi che devono sfregare o comunque lavorare e muoversi vicino alle pareti.

Navire magnifique une fois terminé, avec tout le sérieux de fabrication de Ugears, qui est une marque que j'ai souvent pratiquée (une bonne vingtaine de fois). Instructions claires, pièces parfaitement pré-découpées et bien agencées sur les planches, pour un résultat superbe. A recommander
